First announced in May, Dynablaster from BBG Entertainment has now arrived on all console platforms (except for PlayStation), PC and Mac, and even Atari VCS and Apple TV. The Bomberman-style battle game has had us excited because of its promise of both local and online co-op for up to four players. Now that it's here, we've dived into the co-op mode to bring you our first impressions.

When the Neo Geo Mini arrived in 2018, it kicked off a wave of miniature arcade cabinets that continues to this day. Although the unit featured a fairly good built-in arcade stick and buttons, the optional controllers were widely criticized for their lack of microswitches and inauthentic button layout. Five years later, 8Bitdo will finally offer a much better control option with its upcoming 8Bitdo NEOGEO Wireless Controller. The new controller will work with the NeoGeo Mini, PC, and mobile.

In our Beyond Co-op review of Vampire Survivors, I asked, "how about a sequel with co-op?" Dreams do come true sometimes, as proven by today's announcement that 4-player local co-op will be added to all versions of the game on August 17! Not only that, but Vampire Survivors will launch on Nintendo Switch on the same day. All versions of the gothic Roguelike will remain affordably priced at $5.

Back in the 1980s and 90s, games were sometimes renamed when released in Europe. Contra became Probotector, TMNT became the Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles, and a handful of Bomberman games were called Dynablaster. Now BBG Entertainment, the German company responsible for the really unpleasant looking Boulder Dash Plus, is resurrecting Dynablaster with a brand-new game. One of the best ways to keep a game alive in people's hearts and minds is to release it on modern platforms. One such game, BADLAND: Game of the Year Edition from Frogmind and publisher Qubic Games, is already playable on pretty much every platform out there... except one. That changes on August 6 when BADLAND finally touches down on Nintendo Switch. At last, everyone will get to experience 4-player local co-op in a colorful land gone bad.

Warframe, the free-to-play action/shooter RPG, has been trucking along since 2013. Gamers can download the MMO-like space ninja game on all the big platforms, including PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch. As multiplayer-focused games age, though, playerbase becomes an issue. It's hard to make war on the frames if you can't find anybody to play with. Thankfully, that will soon become less of an issue when Warframe gains cross-play and cross-save before the end of the year.

Co-op games are a great way to spend some time catching up with your friends, but you know what will really enhance those relationships?  Getting super creeped out together and sharing the same skin-crawling tension for a couple hours.  Fortunately for us, The Past Within is due for release later this year, so we'll have ample opportunity to do just that.

Two weeks after its release, Genshin Impact has made quite the impression in the gaming scene. The free-to-play, third-person action game draws a ton of inspiration from Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild as well as an elemental system that's reminsicent of the Divinity: Original Sin titles (i.e., combining two elements produces a new result). We spent a little time with the game's co-op and showed off what it has to offer, as well as its limitations.

Minecraft has managed to give players limitless potential since its release back in 2009, but some how the game continues to add the content the game always needs, even now, eleven years later. In the most recent update, the game has decided to dive into the depths of the hellish Nether to introduce new biomes, blocks, mobs, and resources.It even introduces a new upgrade to diamond resources, meaning even the most achieved players will need to dive back into the game to upgrade their gear. The update is accompanied with the adorable trailer below, which accurately shows about how many times I’ve personally died in the Nether since the content went live.  The changes are available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch.

Few games have captured the creative and adventurous hearts of gamers like the crafting and combat heavy Terraria. The title has managed to keep its longevity over the years with a steady stream of updates ever since its initial PC release back in 2011. However, it appears the newest update, “Journey’s End,” will possibly be one of the final (development) chapters in the long running saga that is Terraria.
