Warframe Gets Another Playable Character: Yareli Prime
It has been a while since we checked in on Warframe, the space ninja-themed free to play MMO from Digital Extremes. Well, a quick glance shows that not only is Warframe still going strong, but the developer has a new game called Soulframe in development as well. Many of us have played Warframe at some point over the years, but far fewer gamers have tried Dark Sector, the single-player action game that takes place earlier in the Warframe timeline. Well, Dark Sector is free on Steam from November 27-30, so now's a great time to grab it up.
Warframe, the free-to-play action/shooter RPG, has been trucking along since 2013. Gamers can download the MMO-like space ninja game on all the big platforms, including PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch. As multiplayer-focused games age, though, playerbase becomes an issue. It's hard to make war on the frames if you can't find anybody to play with. Thankfully, that will soon become less of an issue when Warframe gains cross-play and cross-save before the end of the year.
Digital Extremes, the developer behind the popular space-ninja MMO Warframe, has announced that to celebrate of the game’s 7th anniversary, players will be able to receive in-game rewards beginning now and going through March 30th across all platforms of the game, be it Switch, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, or PC. Additionally, completing special Alerts on the weekends throughout the month of March results in unlocking anniversary gifts (ranging from cosmetics for your Warframe to weapons) from the past 6 years of the game, regardless of how much (or how little) you’ve played - what a happy birth month!
This past weekend, Digital Extremes held their 4th annual TennoCon for Warframe and its fan. As usual, the Candian developer had plenty of news to share about their free-to-play action game, including what's next for the title.
The Nintendo Switch version of Digital Extreme’s Warframe received the Fortuna update recently after being out on the Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC for the past few months. The update comes with a trailer (available below) and adds a new open-world area, a new faction to befriend, new enemies to fight, and some cool hoverboarding.
Digital Extremes held their annual TennoCon this weekend and during their traditional "Tenno Live" panel/keynote, they showed off what they have in store this year for their popular free-to-play action game, Warframe. Following in the footsteps of their "Plains of Eidolon" update from last year, a new open-world area will be added to the game - this time on Venus - when the "Fortuna" update drops sometime in the next few months.
Digital Extremes released a new update this week for the PC version of their MMO-ish action title, Warframe. While the update includes the kind of things we usually see, i.e., new weapons and a new Warframe to assemble via finding all its blueprint pieces, then building the pieces, then assembling the pieces, it also includes something we haven't seen in awhile: a brand new Game Mode called "Sanctuary Onslaught."
Last week, the regular Monday night Co-Opticrew dove back into Warframe to see what had changed since the last time they ran around in it, and also to get ready for the "Plains of Eidolon" update that arrived last Thursday. This week, Mike and Jason did a quick tour of the Plains, before things got a little hectic.
It's been sometime since our Monday night Co-Op Crew has looked in on Digital Extreme's Warframe and there have been a lot of changes, tweaks, and updates since we did. In anticipation of the impending release of the "Plains of Eidolon" update, Locke, Mike, Jason, and Nick decided to hop back in to take a look around.
Digital Extremes' long-running free-to-play action title, Warframe, is receiving quite the impressive update this week. While the Canadian developer has been releasing story/event updates with some regularity, the "Plains of Eidolon" update is a whole new undertaking. Space ninjas can now explore an entirely open-zone area complete with a city hub, vendors, enemies to fight, and gigantic foes to overcome.
A new warrior joins the ranks of the formidable space ninjas in Warframe. The musically inclined Octavia made her debut on the PC version a few weeks back, and she's now set to take the console world by storm!
