Of all the Metal Gear Solid titles, the third is hands-down my favorite and I don't think I'm the only one with that opinion based on Konami's recent announcement. Starting today and going until April 24, 2018, you can team up with a few friends and enjoy a special co-op event in Metal Gear Survive that will net you some special Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (snake eater) themed rewards.
Metal Gear Survive arrived last week to... mild fanfare? It seems like many of the survival elements are too punitive and players end up spending more time managing different base elements/meters than engaging in some stealth action that the name "Metal Gear" implies. Also, there's apparently just one mission type for the co-op mode (i.e., defend a point against waves of enemies). I guess Konami is doing something about that by adding a new co-op mission type this month.
If you missed out on the Metal Gear Survive beta last month, good news! You'll have another chance to check out the game's co-op mode for the next few days before its full release on the 20th. Another open beta kicks off today on PS4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam, and will run until Sunday, February 18.

When the game launches next month, it will require a constant Internet connection, even in single-player, and there will be microtransactions.
UPDATE: It looks like the beta is now available on the PS4 in the Americas as well. So, everyone in Japan, Europe, Asia, and the Americas should have access to the beta on either the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One.
Konami's open-world action/adventure title, Metal Gear Survive, has an official launch date of February 20, 2018, but folks will have a chance to check it out and play it for a few days next month. There will be an open beta period starting on January 18 and wrapping up on January 21.

After the events of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, I didn't think the game series could get any weirder. Turns out, it can. Konami revealed Metal Gear Survive at Gamescom today, a four-player cooperative action title that takes place in an alternate universe after you get sucked through a wormhole... Yep.
