Firefall, a free to play MMO action game from Red 5 Studios, was announced right before PAX 2010 in Seattle. The game was on the show floor for all to see, but details of it are still leaking out. Gamepro checked out the the title and have brought back a nice consolidated list of features from the game.
Finally wrapping up our PAX 2010 coverage, we have a video preview of The Lord of the Rings: War in the North. The five minute video showcases tons of co-op gameplay footage from three giant screens, each displaying a character and their unique abilities. Along with it we get some developer commentary on the game's stats and customization, a look at the inventory screens, and a bit about the new characters we'll see from the LOTR Universe.
We've got some fresh footage of Gears of War 3's co-op Beast Mode from the Penny-Arcade Expo. Sure it's a little late, and it might be a bit blurry and/or shaky - but it's GEARS man. Gears of Friggin War! You have no idea how many Bothans died to bring us this footage, after all, they had Mark Rein as the bouncer!
We've been keeping a watchful on eye Monaco: What's yours is Mine for some time now. The four player co-op "crime caper" title has players working together to steal some loot - each person taking the role of a unique class. The classes each of abilities that support the other players, so team work is key!
Our good friend Rob Schuster from Colony of Gamers was at PAX 2010 this past weekend and got some hands on time with Portal 2's co-op mode. He wrote some hands on impressions, almost all of them positive, giving us the goods on our robot duo's adventures through science.
I'm pretty sure there's a song about the triumph of love, if not, the above screenshot should inspire someone to write it - that is if GlaDOS hasn't already. There's no lying about these Portal 2 screens - they look absolutely gorgeous showing off the game's co-op mode.
