EA will shut down servers for more games on April 13th

EA to Shut Down Online Servers for Spare Parts

Yup, it's happening again. EA has announced that they will be shutting down more servers for several more games. And once again, a co-op title is affected. This time, LEGO-esque downloadable title Spare Parts is getting the bat.  You'll probably remember that this has happened before to another co-op game, Army of Two. That game, though, at least had a few years of online play available to gamers. Spare Parts, however, has only been out for a little more than a year. Though we felt the game had its share of flaws, it's still a sad day to see an online or offline co-op title lose the whole "online" bit.

Spare Parts Achievement Patched

The co-op friendly casual game, Spare Parts, released a few weeks ago.  We thought co-op added a lot to this otherwise vanilla game, giving it a 3 out of 5 in our co-op review.  Completionists might have have noticed that it was impossible to attain all of the Achievements.  A Co-Optimus community member noticed as much and commented on the review.  Never fear, 100 Percenters!  A new patch will automatically install the next time you boot up the game, making the final ship piece appear where it should have been.  Collecting this piece will  allow you to get the Ship's Engineer Achievement.  Happy hunting!

Spare Parts Arrives Tomorrow (Thank You for Your Order )

We've been curious about Spare Parts - EA's downloadable co-op platformer action game - since last summer. It looks like the PlayStation Network is going to be your first stop for all your mechanical needs; the game will be available tomorrow and Wednesday in the U.S. and EU (respectively), according to EA Bright Light.  The Xbox Live Arcade version isn't far behind, releasing worldwide on Wednesday.
