Last night the crew checked out Bloodsports.TV for our latest co-op stream. The game is best described as a mash-up of others. It's DOTA 2 meets Dawn of War 2's Last Stand mode. It's Smash TV meets Borderlands style. It's also a hell of a lot of fun.

The five player co-operative arena brawler will pit you and your friends against waves of enemies in the hopes of being able to not only guarantee your survival, but the survival of your town.

Welcome once again to another edition of Beyond Co-Op, where Co-Optimus looks "beyond the co-op aspect" and brings you some gaming news that doesn't always revolve around cooperative play. For this week’s take, we have a couple of interesting stories on the gaming industry and how their choices affect us as players, consumers, and even developers!
Some of my favorite co-op memories involve the Sega Genesis and games of NHL 95 with my buddy. Sports games are a natural co-op occurence and most games will let you play locally with at least two players vs the AI. Sure we've had a few games that have added a dedicated online co-op mode, but these modes so far haven't been persistent. All of that looks to change with NHL 13's new mode called GM Connected.

I’ve been waiting a long time for this. A long time. Once a poor little rugrat occasionally denigrated to a cutesie photo op by her parents for entertainment’s sake, my daughter is several months from three years old and has accepted the fact that she is a gamer daddy’s little girl. As such, she is often subjected to the allure of colorful gamepads and the curious moving images they control on the TV whenever Dora and Boots aren’t busy looking for the Muddy Mountain.
