The latest update to Motion Twin's co-op roguelike adds new and reworked gifts and lots more.

Windblown's 'Gift' Upgrade System Gets a Big Update

Windblown is the game that answers the question, "What would a Hades-style game from the makers of Dead Cells be like?" Since debuting on Steam Early Access last fall, Motion Twin's latest roguelike has already received several updates. Today's "Gift Update" overhauls the game's Gift (passive upgrades) system, adds new gifts and weapons, and more. From the sound of it, the update doesn't blow!

Cthulhu's Reach Gets a Map Editor in Latest Update

Cthulhu's Reach from The Fine Arc and First Break Labs is a Steam Early Access roguelike shooter based on H.P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu mythos. It features a unique retro art style and isometric graphics, plus the all-important 4-player online co-op. While the game had some good foundations when it debuted, it was somewhat lacking in content. The latest update goes a long way to rectifying that by adding a map editor, not to mention some balance and bug fixes.

The cartoon-style first-person roguelike is getting "deeper co-op mechanics" and much more.

Lots of Improvements Coming to MythForce on June 26

First-person roguelikes like Gunfire Reborn and Roboquest can be quite fun when done well. Another such game is MythForce, which comes from Beamdog, the developer that brought Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 to modern platforms (while mostly ditching the co-op). MythForce features cartoon-like visuals and a fantasy theme, making it quite different from most of its peers. It will soon reach its "final form" via the upcoming Version 1.2 update.

Version 1.2 brings a plethora of improvements, but co-op is still in the works.

New Warside Update Rebalances Difficulty, Improves AI, and More

When Warside debuted on Steam back in April, I blazed through the campaign and had a great time doing it. Little did I know, however, that the turn-based strategy game was too easy. Well, the developers at Lavabird have fixed that and then some with the new version 1.2 update. It rebalances the campaign, improves the enemy AI, adds turn timers to multiplayer, and lots more. This update is one of several that will happen on the way to co-op support being added in the future.

A surprise update comes to all versions (including Xbox), improving an already excellent collection.

Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection Update Brings Enhanced Graphics, New Art, and More

Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics debuted on most platforms last year, followed by an Xbox release this year. Right out of the gate, it was a really impressive collection, hence the high rating in our Co-op Review. Still, it seems that the collection had some room for improvement. This week's update adds local versus modes to each fighting game, graphical enhancements for Marvel vs. Capcom 2, new artwork and music, and more.

Earth Defense Force 6 Finally Gets an Update on Steam

I don't want to get too big for my britches or anything, but sometimes we games journalists have a lot of sway in the industry. For instance, we just published our Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 co-op review today, and on the very same day, D3 Publisher finally updates the Steam version of Earth Defense Force 6. Coincidence? I think not! The update fixes a killer crash that afflicted some AMD Radeon users, reduces load times, and more. You're welcome, EDF fans! ;)

The Steam Early Access survival horror shooter continues to grow.

No More Room in Hell 2 Gets Its First Bloody Update of the Year

Back in October, No More Room in Hell 2 from Torn Banner Studios (developers of the Chivalry series) debuted on Steam. The game is in Early Access, so it's far from finished, but that means that updates have been coming at a steady pace. The latest such update adds a Firefighter Zombie enemy, improved climbing, bug fixes, and much more.

The holiday season is a great time for two things: playing video games and petting cats. What better way to combine those two beloved activities than by playing Cat Quest III, the cat-themed cooperative action RPG? But there's only so much Cat Quest III to go around, so you can't just play it forever. That's where today's free update comes in. The Steam version of the game has just gotten a bunch of new content, and that content will come to consoles before long as well.

Time to Morp's 'Double the Fun' Update Arrives on Steam Early Access

Time to Morp from Team Halfbeard and Yogscast Games is a charming colony sim and automation game that's set on an alien planet. The game is still in Steam Early Access, so it has lots of room to grow. It just grew a lot, actually, thanks to the arrival of the "Double the Fun" update. With the addition of the new farming system, abilities, and toys for co-op, the game really has grown a lot since its debut.

The popular action RPG can now be tuned for a more relaxing or challenging experience.

Enshrouded Gets Difficulty Customization and New Cosmetic Options

Since it arrived on Steam Early Access at the beginning of the year, Enshrouded has developed a very enthusiastic following. Keen Games continually publishes updates to add more content and refine the game. Case in point: the "Back to the Shroud" update adds difficulty configuration options, more character customization options, and a host of decorative items for the player's base. This should all help the game's 16-player online co-op experience be even more engaging.

The formerly single-player driving game gets its co-op mode at last.

Expeditions: A MudRunner Game Gets Online Co-op on Steam

Expeditions: A Mudrunner Game is a spinoff of the Mudrunner and Snowrunner series from Focus Entertainment. This one launched as a single-player game, but online co-op was always a promised feature. That promise has come to pass in the latest update for the Steam version, adding 4-player online co-op. PC players can now explore mountains, forests, and other exotic locales together as a driving team.
