Gearbox Still Developing Colonial Marines, Some Sacrifices Made

Making this kind of a game requires significant sacrifice to the gluteal region
Hot on the heels of the success of Borderlands, Austin developer Gearbox hasn't forgotten about another co-op project they've been working on for some time now. Aliens: Colonial Marines, a 4 player co-op title due for release some time next year, has certainly gone through a rocky development cycle, but in an interview with Game Informer, Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford assured fans that the game is still being developed.
I'll tell you this: We love Aliens... We're working our butts off on it. I think when it comes, people won't be disappointed, but right now it's really not up to us to talk about it.
This is only a snippet from a much longer interview that will appear in the January issue of Game Informer, but that little tidbit alone is heartening. Given how well Gearbox handled the co-op in Borderlands, fans of co-op and the "Alien" franchise should certainly take this news to heart. Now if we only had such assurances from the team developing Aliens vs Predator...

Here Here!!! Also be sure to do splitscreen online lol.
1. The PC & PS3 version had problems with server lists not working (server side problem, how'd they not catch this?).
2. The PC version requires open ports to host... this the 90s? Why not upnp for the router? Even the port information is incorrect for many.
3. Gamespy... their servers pretty much just die if there are a lot of people online, so good luck trying to host a game.
4. People's characters lose all data after quitting a game, back to level 1 occasionally. This still isn't fixed I believe.
5. The PC version was delayed a week, for more time to develop apparently. Ironically, the buggiest of the three versions. It still hasn't had the patch that came out for the 360/PS3 versions last week I believe.
6. Many other problems (mouse speed, vsync, anti-aliasing, not skipping videos, no voice chat options AT ALL, etc etc).
7. Just wanna say, I really did enjoy the game though, put in 20 hours, played with a buddy once we got everything sorted as best we could. Hosting was still a problem based on Gamespy's server's whims sometimes, just had to try multiple times a minute to invite a buddy in. Beat it a couple days ago, honestly, I don't see any replay value once finished, but I did get some great co-op moments out of it and I found it worth the purchase.
