Gearbox Wants You to Influence Borderlands 2

News
Twitter facebook googlebuzz

Gearbox Software has been a Co-Optimus community darling ever since they released the mighty Borderlands.  You may have heard that there is an upcoming sequel, titled -wait for it- Borderlands 2.  Gearbox is a fan friendly company, and they want to know what you liked about the original Borderlands.  You can follow this link and help them out with a survey.  Complete the survey and you'll be entered into a drawing for some Gearbox swag.

The survey will take you about two minutes, unless you're some type of crazy person who doesn't test well.  The questions are about weapons, characters, vehicles, you know, survey questions.  The best part is that there's a comment section at the end, where you can compose a love letter to Gearbox, and beg them for free copies of Borderlands 2.

Thanks to Blakepro for the tip!

Submitted! Hopefully community feedback will help make the sequel a bigger game than the first one.

This is great, but I wonder if they'll actually listen to any of this.

Anyway, I asked for mod support on PC, increased game difficulty (at least in co-op), longer and more challenging boss fights, better class and skill tree variety, New Game , some sort of endgame content with some truly hardcore areas (think MMORPG raids hardcore), more Knoxx-like arenas with higher difficulty and better rewards, more character customization, and...a pony?

I just hope that they do listen and that some of you will support me on some of these ideas. I can't wait to play the sequel!

That should be 'New Game Plus Plus', not 'New Game'. Don't know where all the plus signs went...

I totally agree. I would have loved to write an essay to Insomniac about keeping the R2 co-op mode in R3. THQ also does this for it's WWE series, but unfortunately it seems that they rarely listen to the feedback. Here's hoping that Gearbox actually wants to know what players think as opposed to making them think that they care what they think (wow that sounds confusing).

While I loved Resistance 2's 8 player co-op, I personally don't think it fits in all that well in Resistance 3's setting. A survival mode with 8 players would have been better. They could have still stuck with the soldier/ammo specialist/medic roles which worked so well in the second game. Maybe make the ammo specialist an engineer as well so they can repair stuff or lay down defensive fortifications.

They should bump the players up to 8 players and keep it the same don't be like resistance 2 and make it objective based just keep it at the campaign

Sent in my app.

I basically just said Borderlands was fun but it could have been better with Character customization and better class skills that have a better team dynamic.

I told them "more of the same but add:"

Aircraft!
Ability to steal enemy vehicles (not just blow them up)
More character customizations (That are not just cosmetic.)
A Weapons forge (where we can build weapons from parts looted.)
More than 4 player co-op.
And some AI pets or assistants, like a reprogrammed Clap-Trap, or trained skags to help out - especially while playing solo.
