Magic: Duels of The Planeswalkers Walks Through Time Into 2012

Magic: The Gathering Duels of the Planeswalkers was one of the biggest hits of 2010.  Turns out being a new-player friendly, inexpensive downloadable video game version of the world's premiere trading card game is a recipe for success.  The game spawned three expansions, and appeared on Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC.  You don't have to be a powerful wizard to foresee a sequel, do you?

Second Expansion for Duels of the Planeswalkers Released

After a long wait, the second expansion for the popular Duels of the Planeswalkers XBLA game was released yesterday.  Unfortunately, those who logged in early in eager anticipation of slinging new spells were denied.  The expansion pack effectively broke the game, keeping the player stuck in a login/out loop.  Magic fanboys and girls everywhere were up in arms, but after a few hours, a patch was released that fixed the issue.  I was able to get the expansion up and running, but it required a download of a patched version of the entire game, at least for me when I tried last night.

Duels of The Planeswalkers Gets Vampiric New DLC

A swecond expansion for Magic the Gathering Duels of the Planeswalkers has been announced.  We already knew the expansion was coming, but now we've got some details.  The expansion is as of yet untitled, and will feature Sorin Markhov, a vampiric Planeswalker, pictured above, as the "big boss" character.  Three new decks, including the blue/black/red deck used by the first expansion's Nicol Bolas, will become available once the single player campaign is defeated.  No word on a new co-op campaign, but both previous releases included a local two-headed giant style campaign, so we'd guess that trend will continue.

Magic: Duels of the Planeswalkers Expansion "Duel the Dragon" Impressions

The first expansion for Magic the Gathering: Duels of the Planeswalkers has been out for just over a week now.  Titled Duel the Dragon, the expansion adds some much needed variety to the original game, including another two-headed giant style co-op campaign.  We've spent quite a bit of time with the expansion, and have our impressions to help you decide if it's a worthwhile purchase this crowded gaming season.

Magic: Duels of the Planeswalkers Expansion Arrives Next Week

If you've been wondering when the DLC for Magic the Gathering: Duels of the Planeswalkers is coming, wonder no more.  Next Wednesday, October 21, new cards, new decks, new puzzles, and new opponents are all coming your way.  Three new playable decks, including the AI-only "Relics of Doom" will be available.  Each of the original decks get new cards to unlock, and new single player and co-op levels are included.  Famous planeswalking dragon Nicol Bolas makes an appearance, too!  Sadly, only three new puzzle levels make it in the expansion; I really enjoyed these, and thought far more should have been included.  All the card-slinging fun can be had for a mere 400 MS points.  If only they'd add in online co-op!
