Three weeks ago, IGN graciously hosted the demo for Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, the upcoming PSP game that will feature 4-player co-op. It's completely in Japanese, but thanks to a couple of handy guides, it's playable for those of us who can't read Japanese. We posted the link as well, hoping to get some time in with the demo...
...and that we did. We're pleased to tell you that Peace Walker is on its way to becoming a definitive game for the PSP in terms of innovation and overall enjoyment. Unfortunately, the co-op in the demo is a bit lacking...but the groundwork is there for a great experience.

Solid Snake gets some co-op assistance from Half Naked Snake
We finally get to try out some Metal Gear Solid: Peacewalker co-op! When it was confirmed via a special trailer, we still had no idea how the co-op would be implemented. At the time of this writing, we still don't...but rest assured we're looking into it.
How, you ask? IGN managed to get a copy of the Tokyo Game Show exclusive MGS: Peacewalker demo, and they're hosting it for free to anyone willing to sit through the 152 MB download. They've also posted instructions for installation.
Note: the demo is in Japanese, so some helpful fans have put together an FAQ and walkthrough here.

For a while now we've been curious about the Metal Gear Solid: Peacewalker trailer that showed us 4 Snakes in different gear on screen at once. Did it mean co-op for us? Why yes, yes it did - they just weren't ready to tell us yet. Now, we have a confirmation in the new trailer. It starts out with brief sentences breaking up the Snake action like a silent movie, explaining how alone Snake in his solo campaign against the world.
Then, another Snake enters the scene with the text "...A comrade?" Followed by "Solo No Longer!" Then finally "Co-op."

How many Snakes am I holding up?
If there is anything Konami is especially good at (besides designing some amazing game titles,) it's teasing the loyal Metal Gear Solid fans. The latest tease involved a countdown clock, some mysterious written characters, and a trailer potentially showing co-op for the first time. Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker has captivated our attention, and we take a close look at a few passages from a Konami interview that allude to potential co-op.

Metal Gear Solid made several appearances at E3, including a whole new game for the Xbox360, and a PSP "sequel" to Metal Gear Solid 3. Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker is set 10 years after the events of Metal Gear Solid 3, covering the conflict that lead to creation of the original Metal Gear's "Outer Heaven."
