This month in Indie-Ana Co-Op, we hear from the Yeti Trunk, aka "Team Wanderlust." Since their initial outing into the world of game development a year and a half ago with Wanderlust: Rebirth, Yeti Trunk has released a couple of mobile game for the iPhone/iPad market. Now they're looking to return to the world of Wanderlust, and co-founder Matthew Griffin wants to share with all the other indie devs out there the one thing that's helped them out the most: listening to the fans.
The days are getting longer, warmer, and just a bit more busy. Yes, summer is finally arriving and we've got some fun things planned for you all with our Indie-Ana Co-Op feature. Before we get there, though, we thought we'd do a quick retrospective of some of our winter and spring highlights.
One of the more popular ways indie devs are getting their games out there in front of an ever growing audience of gamers is to team up with a few other developers (some might say they are cooperating) to offer their game as part of some form of bundle deal. GamersGate.com is offering their own indie game bundle, the IndieFort, starting today and going until next Friday, and in their bundle there's at least one cooperative game that caught our eye: Wanderlust: Rebirth.
This week in Indie-Ana Co-Op we speak with Matthew Griffin and Jason Gordy, the development team behind the 4 player PC game, Wanderlust: Rebirth. We speak with them about what lead them to become game developers, what co-op games inspired them, and what challenges they faced throughout Wanderlust's long development.
This week in Indie-Ana Co-Op, we ring in the New Year by looking at an action RPG that has its roots firmly in the mid-90s console era, yet found its way onto the PC, of all platforms. We also have a special treat for all you long-time readers!
Some months back, we talked about an online action-rpg coming to the PC that offered the kind of cooperative gameplay found in classic Super NES games like Secret of Mana. The game in question is Wanderlust: Rebirth and you can now hack n' slash your way through foes with friends at a fraction of the cost! Until December 25th, Team Wanderlust is selling their debut title at just half its usual going rate of $10. The savings really start to add up when you purchase mutliple copies to share between you and your fellow adventurers, as you can get four copies of the game for just $15! That's almost as good a deal as the latest indie bundle.
Has anyone else been reminiscing about Secret of Mana lately? Because I sure have - I even mentioned as much to our own Andrew "Cubninja" Gaskill last night. In any case, it has recently been brought to our attention that a new indie PC title called Wanderlust: Rebirth is not only in development, but releases next month!
