New Baldur's Gate Game, Code-named Adventure Y, To Be Released Later This Year

It's not quite Baldur's Gate 3, but I'll take it.

Ah, the CRPG.  Shall I compare thee to a well-worn keyboard?  My darling, some love you and your faux-Medieval settings and find the freedom you offer liberating to their real-world sensibilities.  Others find you trite, overwhelming, and tire of your "Oh look, another mad wizard" cliches.  Nevertheless, you persevere.  Through the gaming industry crash, through the rise of the JRPG, you soldier on, offering D&D styled combat to those who crave its tender grasp.

Even now, you persist in releasing another new entry into the Baldur's Gate series.  Though it promises to bridge the story between the enhanced editions of Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate 2, it shall also be the mountain on which I climb to proclaim my adoration for you.  Adventure Y, as you have so intelligently termed it, shall be published by none other than Beamdog, who was responsible for the iOS versions of the aforementioned titles.  A fine choice, my dice-rolling sweet.

Alas, it shall not quite be the third installment of the Baldur's Gate series that we crave, but we shan't give up hope!  Beamdog themselves have stated that they do consider its production from time to time, though nothing is currently in development.  We do so long for more 6 player cooperative dungeon crawling.  With luck, this Adventure Y shall sate us for the time being.

It brings me great joy to know of your resurgence of late, which culminated in the magnificent Divinity: Original Sin.  I expect even more from you, darling CRPG, in the following seasons.  Rest assured that no matter what, I shall never forget our hours together, especially that time my comrade tried to pickpocket a bear and it wiped out our entire party before we had a chance to save.
