Josef Fares is back in action with a brand new co-op title. His latest game development project is It Takes Two, an action/platformer following the journey of two dolls which have come to life. Not a huge amount is known about the game yet, but if Fares' previous entry, A Way Out, is any indicator, the game will be built from the ground up for a co-op experience.
Fares' first title, Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, was a fairly revered indie title known for its unique, heart-wrenching story. A Way Out was met with less reverence, but its co-op design choices were certainly innovative. Hopefully, he and his team can utilize the experience from their previous games to make It Takes Two a more satisfying blend of story and gameplay. If you're curious to get more details about the game, as well as Fares himself, check out the video below.
If nothing else, Fares seems to have very a clear vision of how he wants his games to look and feel. While that trait alone doesn't necessarily lead to consistent quality in a designer's output, it typically helps push new, fresh ideas into the gaming industry, which is always exciting.
It Takes Two will be available sometime in 2021 and will feature two player co-op.
