Dodge Roll and Devolver Digital's Enter the Gungeon is a hit twin-stick shooter roguelike that debuted nearly ten years ago. Since then, it has received several DLCs and a single-player spin-off called Exit the Dungeon. Well, it seems that there's more life left in Enter the Gungeon yet. It's finally coming to Android and iOS, and with online co-op not found in the big-screen versions.
Official Enter the Gungeon details:
Described by critics as ‘a masterpiece of the genre’ and ‘one of the most enjoyable shooters money can buy,’ Enter the Gungeon sees you shooting, looting, dodge rolling and table flipping your way through a constantly evolving bullet hell fortress stinking with fearsome Gundead beasts, colossal bosses and heaps of treasure.
And this new mobile version is packing some fresh heat:
- Touch-friendly controls designed specifically for mobile devices, letting you swipe, tap and poke your screen to conquer the depths of the Gungeon
- Even the odds by joining forces with other Gungeoneers, even if they aren’t in the same room as you, with the long-requested addition of online co-op multiplayer
- A brand new playable character: The Lamb. Take on the Gungeon as Cult of the Lamb’s fleecy hero, with new abilities inspired by the hit cult simulator
It's worth noting that Co-Optimus' own Nick Puleo didn't love Enter the Gungeon in his co-op review. Still, the game was updated several times since then, and it does remain a popular example of the roguelike genre. I should probably play it more and develop my own opinion!
Enter the Gungeon will cost $8.99 when it arrives on mobile this summer. Exit the Gungeon will sell for $4.99. Learn more at EnterTheGungeon.com. Enter the Gungeon is already available on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, and Steam, where it costs $14.99.
