Online retailer Amazon.com is listing a September 1st ship date for Gears of War 2: Game of the Year Edition. Retailing for $40, and available for $37, the game packs Gear 2 and all of the DLC content onto one fine disc.

Raven Squad should be on store shelves today for the Xbox 360 and PC. The game features two player online co-op in an 80's inspired jungle war. The unique feature the game provides is the ability to switch seamlessly between an RTS style viewpoint and a first person viewpoint. This should make for some interesting cooperative strategy!
MUSE lead singer Matt Bellamy has lend his likeness to Guitar Hero 5, Activision announced today. The always entertaining Bellamy talks about being digitized in the game during the latest promo video. After donning the spandex and glowy balls, he imagined himself playing the song Plug-in Baby in some of the bands biggest performances. The song is featured on the GH5 soundtrack, and is one of my personal favorite songs of the band.
Infinity Ward showed off the two-player co-op Special Ops mode from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 at GamesCom, and G4TV got to watch. Unfortunately, the developer who ran the demo chose to do so with AI instead of another player. Um...okay?

The fate of the four player co-op game, Aliens: Colonial Marines, hinges on the success of another game that just so happens to have a co-op mode; Aliens versus Predator. So while the Gearbox developed Colonial Marines, a title with a promised four player cooperative campaign was announced first, it's the latter game with the add-on survival mode that will decide when, and possibly if, Colonial Marines ships.
One of the more interesting announcements related to the PlayStation 3 Slim was the fact that Sony is re-branding it. Up until this point Sony's shiny black box sported a Spider-Man the movie font with the word PlayStation 3 all spelled out. This was a departure from the previous two boxes which both sported PS and PS2 logos.
