Your viking mileage may vary

Bossgard Stream Recap

There's a new asymmetrical multiplayer game in town called Bossgard and for this week's "Let's Play Co-Op," Mike, Jason, and Nick donned their viking helmuts and viking gear to take on some killer bread! In this 1 v 5 game, 5 players take on the roles of different vikings to bring down 1 big boss. You can have humans in all of those slots, or you can do 5 humans vs 1 A.I. boss (our preference). The title is currently in Early Access on Steam and there's certainly some areas where you can see this is still a work in progress, like the balancing between the two sides, but there's certainly promise.

Classic shoot \'em ups come back

Arcade Classics Anniversary Collection Co-Op Review

2019 has been a good year for compilations of classic arcade games, with SNK 40th Anniversary Collection finally getting a multiplatform release, and now Konami’s Arcade Classics Anniversary Collection has arrived on both consoles and PC. This one collects 8 classic arcade games (mostly shoot ‘em ups), three of which feature 2-player lo...

The ‘Most Co-op Game EVER’ Gets a New Trailer

TwinCop Gets A Release Trailer

TwinCop, the upcoming twin-stick shooter from Finite Reflection, has received a new trailer in preparation for its soon-approaching May 10th release date onto the Steam store. The trailer can be found below and displays gameplay with which any twin-stick shooter fan should be familiar. However, this is not your average co-op, twin-stick gameplay. Per the game’s Steam description, “TwinCop is the most cooperative game, EVER. Play this action-packed, co-op, twin-stick shooter with your best bud or significant other. You and your friend are TwinCop: One player controls the right arm; the other controls the left arm; both of you control movement.”

Get a Map To Help A Charity

Minecraft Package ‘The Traveling Trader’ Remains Free

The studio behind Minecraft, Mojang, made a $10,000 donation in March to the Charity: Water, an organization that helps spread the ability to access clean water to people who have difficulty getting it. In April, Mojang promised to give more so long as “The Traveling Trader” map and skin pack was downloaded 10,000 times across the PC, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, iOS and Android communities. Unsurprisingly this goal was ripped to shreds, as the map was downloaded over 10,000 times in 24 hours and has since passed 100,000 downloads. Thanks to this success, Mojang has donated another $90,000 to Charity: Water.

Shoot! Some! GUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNNNNNSSSSSSSS!

Borderlands 3 Gameplay Reveal Summary

A couple days ago, Gearbox held a mini-event where they showed off about 40 minutes (after you take out the introductions, closings, etc) worth of gameplay from the forthcoming Borderlands 3. There were lots of tasty tidbits in there for everyone that enjoys this particular style of loot shooting, and we'll do our best to sum up some of the bigger points.

We've got it, and we're not above scratching it.

Our Weekend In Gaming: The Itch

The Co-Opticrew is venturing into territory both old and new this weekend.  On the unfamiliar side of things, a large portion our staff seems to be entranced with the idea of deck-based RPG combat (or maybe it's just the robots).  Those who aren't as willing to go out and see the dang world will be retreating into those places they know best, such as addictive strategy titles and games about shooting a gun that also... shoots... a gun?  I'm not entirely clear on the logistics, there.

Shooting aliens in hallways has never looked so good

Red Solstice 2: Survivors Arriving This Year, Ironward Interview

Back in 2015, a new Croatian developer released their first title: the survival/tactical strategy game, The Red Solstice. We played a couple times for our weekly Monday night "Let's Play Co-Op" streams, and always had fun even if we died a lot. A couple years ago, they then released a twin-stick shooter set in the same universe, Solstice Chronicles: MIA. Now, they've got a new game coming out, The Red Solstice 2: Survivors, a follow-up to their first title, and it's looking to be more of that good tactical strategy action. They released their first gameplay trailer today to show off what we can expect this time around, and we spoke with Hrvoje Horvatek from Ironward about how this all came about.

Revisiting Earthfall Stream Recap

Last summer, we hopped into Holospark's FPS alien shooter Earthfall. The game was very much trying to capture that Left 4 Dead feel but with aliens instead of zombies. There were some interesting ideas, like the 3D printers for guns and setting up defenses, but it also felt like there just wasn't enough there. In the few months after its release, the devs did add some new content, so we figured we should finally hop back in to check it out.
