Orcs Must Die! Unchained Shutting Down In April

Last week, Robot Entertainment announced that their free-to-play third-person action/tower defense-ish game, Orcs Must Die! Unchained, will be coming to an end this April. Sadly, it sounds like this attempt to shift the popular franchise to the "games as a service" model didn't pan out for the Texas-based developer.

Orcs Must Die! Unchained Gets New Hero, Map, And Traps

Be it through books, games, or movies, the fantasy genre of late has started to take a closer look at mankind's greatest foe: the orc.  Stances have begun to soften, their portrayals as heartless monsters have been replaced with those presenting them as savage, yet honorable creatures, and certainly not created to oppose the forces of good.  The Orcs Must Die! franchise (including Orcs Must Die! Unchained) brings us back to the days of yore, when orcs were evil and needed to be slain.  That was that.

Endless Mode Added to Orcs Must Die! Unchained

News about the next entry in the Orcs Must Die! series, titled Orcs Must Die! Unchained, has been scarce since it was first revealed last autumn. Unlike previous entries, the game has shifted in mechanics to be somewhat more "MOBA-like", though there would be a non-PvP option for players just looking to play with friends. With the latest update to the game's beta (still closed), it looks like we'll be getting a type of endless/horde mode in addition to the standard game.

Question time. Do you loathe members of the Orcish persuasion? Do you own a Playstation 4? Do you only speak in declarative statements? If you answered "yes," to all of these questions, you may proceed to rejoice. Orcs Must Die! Unchained is headed to the PS4 for all of your green-skin dismemberment needs. The multiplayer series originally made its home on the Xbox 360, and now it appears it has arrived in the new generation on Sony's team.
