Crea is hoping to take the whole Terraria sandbox genre in a slightly different direction. The sidescrolling exploration game is built with community in mind, making every aspect easy to mod and customize. The gameplay itself even varies from your usual Minecraft-type game, which actually makes the co-op aspect even stronger than usual.

The team at Chucklefish is still toiling away on the Terraria-like sandbox game Starbound. Pre-orders opened up in mid-April and have been a rousing success, bringing in over $1.1 million from almost 50,000 future players. That's a lot of funding, especially for a small indie studio, and it bodes well for the future of Starbound.
Starbound is an upcoming indie sandbox game designed to be something of a spiritual successor to Terraria. It's filled with all the exploration, building, crafting and character customization features you could ever want, but the real kicker is the addition of randomly generated planets you can inhabit! It's a good thing, too, as your home world was just destroyed by something evil, so you'll need all the space and resources you can get to construct a gigantic death laser of revenge.
The 1.8.2 Adventure Update DLC of the Xbox 360 version of Minecraft is pretty much complete and will be sent off to Microsoft for certification in about one to two weeks, as stated in a tweet from developer 4J Studios. The final stretch is here and it couldn’t come any sooner.

EA Games would now like to invite the whole family to play together in the wonderful world of Create, where the players make the solutions, and the game. Players build their world and solve them together - some have compared this to the largely co-op game Little Big Planet, but it looks like Create is a bigger world that focuses much more on the players to make it work.
