Adds the new "horde" mode

State of Decay 2's Daybreak DLC Arrives September 12

The last time we heard from Undead Labs about State of Decay 2, they were releasing some 4th of July themed weapons and zombies into the game. At the same time, they provided a rough outline of what was next for the zombie-survival game; specifically, DLC that would add a new co-op mode to the game. On Tuesday, they revealed that "Daybreak" will be arriving September 12 and will let four players team up to fight off waves of zombies.

Independence Pack DLC Adds New Vehicles and Weapons to State of Decay 2

Undead Labs is getting into the 4th of July spirit a little early with the Independence Pack for State of Decay 2. The DLC is currently available for both the Xbox One and Windows 10 versions of the game and if, like me, you're into driving around in vehicles opening doors, then this pack adds to the excitement with the introduction of new cars like "The Meatwagon" and "The Burninator."

State of Decay 2 Developers Stream More Goodies

As the May 22nd release for State of Decay 2 gets closer, developer Undead Labs has held a number of different streams where they answer questions in real time while showing off gameplay of their new title. In the most recent stream (which is now available on YouTube) the developer showed vehicles, covered some of the differences in the maps, and let players see how gameplay programmers go about surviving in the world.

State of Decay 2 Getting Collector's Edition With Goodies, No Game

I was fan of the original State of Decay and the way it implemented loot-runs with survival and permadeath mechanics. The only thing missing from it was co-op, which the sequel will happily rectify. As I excited as I am to play it, the announcement of a "Collector's Edition" this morning gave me a bit of a pause. Not so much because of what's included, but specifically what's EXCLUDED - a copy of the game.

Just when you thought it was safe to decompose.

New Details Emerge For State Of Decay 2

"Wow," I remember thinking when I first gazed upon State of Decay's Steam page, "this has just about everything I'd want in a zombie survival game."  Not only did it allow you to engage in the traditional scavenging, crafting, and defending mechanics found elsewhere in the genre, it also attempted to simulate the humans living within this apocalyptic nightmare and their various relationships.  Unfortunately, it was without any sort of co-op mode, and as such, was tough to imagine fitting into my traditional gaming rotation.
