We all know what LEGO The Hobbit game is about. It is based on the popular fantasy films which themselves are based on the book. Kind of highbrow elves and dwarves and stuff. However, the new trailer for the game wants you look at things in a different more Ocean's Eleven style.
The LEGO games have glommed onto a number of big-name franchises over the past decade, including The Lord of the Rings. A release for The Hobbit was basically a "no duh" thing, but the game missed an opportunity for a simultaneous launch with the second movie. Now, the official release date has finally been set for LEGO The Hobbit: April 8th in North America and April 11th in Europe.
LEGO The Hobbit is trying to include even more aspects of playing with the real-life LEGO play sets than ever before. Gamers will soon find themselves having to interact with a virtual set of the mega popular toy line within a brand new, in-game feature.
Just in time for the release of the second film in the series, LEGO The Hobbit finally has a trailer. The full game won't see the light of day until next Spring, but they want you to go ahead and get pumped for their upcoming title. If you've seen the first movie (or the second one, I guess) you'll recognize some scenes recreated with syrupy-sweet Lego charm. Shocker: It looks a whole lot like a Lego game. Check it out.
Following the LEGO Lord of the Rings game, Warner Bros. Interactive announced their latest game based on the Tolkien classic, LEGO The Hobbit. Will it take us to fantastic co-op gameplay and back again?
Amazon is running a promo right now for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey on Blu-Ray. The film comes out on March 19th - just over two weeks away and you can pre-order it for just $26 for the regular version or $30 to include the 3D version. Those are already pretty good prices for the combo packs - but there's an added bonus if you purchase LEGO Lord of the Rings too.
