Valkyria Chronicles II Demo Available on PSN Today

Valkyria Chronicles was released for the Playstation 3 a couple years ago, enhancing the turn based RPG formula with 3rd person action elements and an impressive visual style.  The game is thought rather highly of; I know our own resident artist, Mike, is a big fan.  Coming later this month is Valkyria Chronicles II, which will be released for the PS3's smaller, more portable sibling, the PSP.

Why Valkyria Chronicles 2 is on the PSP

Many were shocked to hear that a Valkyria Chronicles sequel was in the works, and furthermore, were shocked to hear it was going to have a cooperative mode.  But everyone's collective jaws hit the floor when they found out the game was going to be a PlayStation Portable exclusive.  Why would Sega choose to go this route for a sequel to one of the most beautiful PlayStation 3 games available?

Valkyria Chronicles Sequel to Feature Co-Op

The news from the Tokyo Game Show keeps rolling in, bringing with it some more good co-op news for PSP owners.  Regular listeners of our podcast likely know by now that Mike and I have touted the virtues of Valkyria Chronicles, an action jRTS game released for the PS3 last year.  The one downside to the game?  No co-op.  Well it seems that that particular problem will be fixed in the sequel.  1Up reported today from the show floor that the upcoming Valkyria Chronicles 2 will feature custom characters, multiplayer mode, and co-op.  When asked about the new co-op mode, director Takeshi Ozawa had this to say:
