Microsoft recently announced their August line-up for their Xbox Live Games with Gold program. Out of the four games (two for 360, two for One), two of them have co-op: Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate and Spelunky.
We don't have too many co-op titles coming out this week. We've got a little brawling in China, some more brawling in China, and an excellent four player platformer is coming to the PC.
Fans of Dynasty Warriors, Samurai Warriors, and pretty much every other Warriors-based franchise have a lot to look forward to next March. Warriors Orochi 3 will feature over 120 playable characters, including favorites from the Three Kingdoms as well as appearances from Ryu Hayabusa, Joan of Arc, and Achilles. We've got some fancy new screens for your viewing pleasure today.
North American Playstation 3 owners looking forward to Warriors Orochi 3 will have to make due with a digital download version rather than boxed copies, as Sony has struck down a retail release for the latest Warriors title. The reason it can't be sold in stores? No English dialogue, though it does contain English subtitles. This esoteric mandate from Sony's US branch has caused other would-be retail titles to go straight to digital in the past as well. Presumably, the Yakuza games received retail releases due to either pressure from SEGA or a bargain of some sort.
Despite the potential shattering of reality, Koei's Warriors Orochi crossover series has successfully combined the Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors universes twice so far. Now the third Orochi game, Warriors Orochi 3 (aka Orochi Musou 2 for some reason) will be unleashed on western shores. But are we ready for all the hackin' and a-slashin'?
