Left 4 Dead 2 Boycott Ends With Back Patting For All

Jason "OrigamiPanther" Love October 15th, 2009 at 1:05 PM

The much publicized, discussed, and debated (at least over the Internet) Left 4 Dead 2 boycott has finally come to end; not with a Tank roar, but a flood of self-congratulations and back patting it would seem.  Ars Technica reported yesterday on the forum post that brought the boycott to an end by the two members of the Steam community that began it all, Agent of Chaos and Walking_Target.  You may remember that it wasn't that long ago that these two gentlemen also snagged themselves a special trip to Valve, courtesy of Valve.  So what does this mean for all the L4D fans out there?  Well, it's ok to buy and enjoy the co-op goodness of L4D2 because L4D will still be supported... you know, like Valve talked about months ago.

Apparently, many of the members are not happy about it. Of course, if they could spell correctly when they post their venomous, trollish insults, then maybe they'd be taken seriously.

Well just because a Stream group is gone, doesn't mean people won't boycott Left 4 Dead 2.

While I am not buying it, it isn't due to any type of effort to boycott. Just that Borderlands has taken the money and won't give it back

Still, it's good to know that those 2 guys feel comfortable with the gifts Valve threw at them....

I loled at the picture, i love how after seeing what one level that was alright at best they are suddenly happy?

I love it that they are PC gamers and have access to loads of mods while the 360 gamers only get what they release as DLC.

Seems like BS to me. They're still spitting the community, they're still giving us a slightly different game that easily could have been an expansion, and they're still money grubbing whores. Yes, I don't like Valve. I think the source engine is dated and L4D is a boring game. I also hate sunshine and love.

Heh...well, i won't be getting this for the same reason as Mrxknown_JG, Borderlands. It has more potential than L4D.

I still enjoy L4D but would rather play Killing Floor, so I could not justify the purchase of L4D2, once it goes for a half price drop or a very cool promo, I might get it.

As for the boycotters, well they don't need a thread to boycott the game...I hope.

Well I love Left 4 Dead but the Crash Course map pack kinda sucked. It was only 2 levels (long levels but only 2). All the hype and 560 ms points just for that. Not really worth it. So if thats the quality their gonna be putting out than forget about it.

yup yup yup... Borderlands for me! Both PC and 360. And far too many user created campaigns out there to try for original L4D - why buy a new game that is the same game? Remember... a pig in lipstick is still a pig! (groan...)
