Do you like Halo 4?  Do you like PLAYING Halo 4?  Do you like playing Halo 4 every waking moment of the day and like Microsoft Points?  Good news for you deserving citizen.  Microsoft has launched a promotion in which you can earn free Microsoft points just for playing Halo 4 multiplayer?  Just how much Halo 4?  Over 5 days worth of Master Chief goodness.

Here's the breakdown.

If you play Halo 4 for 35 hours during the month of November - you'll earn 100 .

Play for 70 hours?  That's 300 .  And finally 140 hours - or 5.8 days straight - you'll get 600 .

But wait...there's more.  If you decide to purchase a ridiculous amount of Halo related content on Xbox Live Marketplace, you can earn some extra points.  In fact spending 3000 will get you a rebate of 200 points or spending 1500 will get you a rebate of 100.

So what does this all mean?  Somebody is going to be playing and spending a lot of money on Halo 4.  Make sure you head to the Xbox Rewards site and sign up for the Xbox Rewards program to qualify.

If you are waiting for a PC version of Halo 4 to spend every waking moment playing, don't hold your breath.  The last Halo game on the PC was Halo 2.  The PA Report has the full details on why you won't be seeing this game on a PC.  The bottom line?  Microsoft doesn't want to.

So I pay 3000 MS points and get 200 back? [sarcasm">That's a deal![/sarcasm">

That's a ridiculous amount of money for little return. Though if you already are getting Halo, earning MS points for playing is great. But I feel it should apply to any Xbox 360 game and not just the promotion of the month darling.

I'm guessing campaign and Spartan ops don't count, so I will be record exactly zero hours. Even if they did, I don't think I would even get close to the lowest tier. It is an interesting idea though. It is another way they an encouraging people to buy the game right away at full price rather than waiting for a sale.

I think Spartan Ops counts, but probably not campaign. My guess is anything under the "infinity" menu.

Pretty much all of Xbox Live Rewards is lacking. It's not just this particular deal. The program could be a lot better.

On the other hand, it's 200 points back that you wouldn't get otherwise...

Yeah, they couldn't pay me to play the game. We'll they could, but not in MSPTS.
