Ghostbusters Wii Slimer Edition on Sale Right Now for $38!November 03rd, 2009 at 1:17 PM by Nicholas "bapenguin" Puleo

Right now for the next four hours, (deal is up sorry!) you can get the exlusive Slimer Edition of Ghostbusters for the Wii for only $38.  Normally the edition runs for $60 on the Wii or $70 on the Xbox 360 and PS3.  So what else do you get besides the game for the extra dough?

Included in the Slimer Edition:

  • An exclusive Slimer bust designed and created by the original movie sculptor, Steve Johnson. Comes complete with a certificate of authenticity signed by the sculptor himself.
  • Exclusive Ghostbusters Gamer Graffix Skins.
  • An exclusive (in the US) Ecto1 Key Chain that lights up and makes a siren sound.

As an owner of the 360 Slimer Edition, the statue makes an excellent addition to your shelves.   It's a quality and hefty piece of art.  If you remember, the Wii version of Ghostbusters was, in our opinion, the better tuned experience for co-op gamers compared to the next gen console versions.  It offers two player local co-op play through the game's story.

The battle is truly on for your fall gaming dollar as Amazon has unleashed a killer deal for gamers.  While normally they offer a $5 or $10 credit for preordering titles through their site, this deal trumps them all.

Amazon.com is offering a Buy 2 Get 1 Free promotion, or as they call it, 3 For 2, on a good chunk of video games.  This isn't just older titles, but a lot of newer titles as well.

A quick gander at the list reveals a few co-op titles as well like: Operation Flashpoint 2, Madden 10, Guitar Hero 5, Beatles Rock Band, NHL 10, Gears of War 2, Halo 3, Call of Duty: World at War, and Star Wars the Clone Wars: Republic Heroes.

In a season of gaming when wallets are empty due to a plethora of new releases, a deal like this is very welcomed.  And remember,  all purchases using the above link help support Co-Optimus!

Steam offers Borderlands Co-Op Discount, TV Spot Teases Bazillions of GunsOctober 14th, 2009 at 11:01 AM by Nicholas "bapenguin" Puleo

Borderlands for the PC is a little further away than the 360 and PS3 versions of next week (OMG NEXT WEEK!), but that gives you plenty of time to organize a group of four people for this co-op deal Steam is offering.

You can pre-purchase a four pack of Borderlands for only $135, basically getting one copy of the game for free.  In the end that comes down to $33.75 a person for some co-op gaming goodness.  Yes please!

Of course if you are still on the fence for the game, perhaps the game's TV spot will sway you over the proverbial fence and into the Borderlands.

Pre-Purchase Painkiller Resurrection, Get Painkiller Overdose and Black FreeOctober 12th, 2009 at 7:58 AM by Nicholas "bapenguin" Puleo

Steam's preorder deals are becoming legendary in their value and bonuses, and the latest one for the four player co-op Painkiller Resurrection.  It's been a long time since we've even heard anything about the title, but the game is now only two weeks away.

The package comes with Painkiller Black Edition and Painkiller Overdose, the game's prequels.  While neither offered co-op, it's a decent value with the current $26.99 preorder price for all three games.  Painkiller has always been about bizarre and fun weapons - like the stake gun.  There was nothing better in the original than staking guys to the wall and watching them dangle like baby dolls on a clothesline.

Save some cash while you shred!

Quite an impressive deal comes to us via Amazon.com today.  After just over a month in release, Guitar Hero 5 is on sale for 50% off.  The deal unfortunately only applies to the Xbox 360 version (sorry Wii and PS3 rockers).  We found the game impressive and gave it a very good review.  Don't forget that the Guitar Hero World Tour DLC that's on sale this week is compatible with Guitar Hero 5 as well.  If you're a music game fan, and haven't picked this title up yet, now's the time to nab it!

Left 4 Dead Preorders Receive 10% Off, Early Demo October 27thOctober 02nd, 2009 at 2:48 PM by Nicholas "bapenguin" Puleo

Valve has announced another preorder incentive for Left 4 Dead 2 purchases - $5 off.  This goes for both the Xbox 360 and PC versions of the game.

Those who pre-order the game from participating retailers or via Steam will receive early access to the Left 4 Dead 2 demo on October 27th.  This is in addition to the already announced exclusive in-game item – the American baseball bat.

We're only a few short weeks away from more co-op zombie killing, but will it live up to the hype the first game created last year?  It's a vastly different market this year with plenty of co-op zombie games in it.
