Last month, Gearbox announced/revealed new DLC for Borderlands 2 titled "Commander Lilith and the Fight for Sanctuary." This add-on content provides a bit of a story bridge between the end of Borderlands 2 and the start of the forthcoming Borderlands 3. With not many new co-op releases these days, we decided to hop into the DLC and see how Pandora looks nearly 7 years later...
With the upcoming release of Borderlands 3, Gearbox announced at the Microsoft E3 panel that their previous title, Borderlands 2, will be receiving DLC that bridges the story gap between the two games. The catch is that it's only available on current-gen iterations of the game, which means you'll need to own Borderlands: The Handsome Collection on Xbox One or PlayStation 4 (PC players, you're fine with just Borderlands 2). However, the DLC is free to snag that until July 3; after that it's $14.99.
Happy June! New month means new free games for PlayStation subscribers (yes, I know not really "free"). If you've got an active subscription, then you can get Sonic Mania and Borderlands: The Handsome Jack Collection starting today. The former is a great nostalgic throwback to the days when Sonic and Mario duked it out for "best platformer," while the latter seems like it might be pretty conveniently timed.

If you missed out on that and are still super into Borderlands, you're in luck. There will be another edition of the bundle coming out soon.
Ready for your PS4 or Xbox One's hard drive to take another one for the team? Shortly after the March release of Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, Gearbox rolled out a huge patch for both systems that weighed in at roughly 16GB. Two months later we get hit with another patch, this one around 8GB. Good thing 1.25 inch floppies aren't the storage norm.

The Handsome Collection sure is nice, what with its Borderlands 2, The Pre-Sequel, all the DLCs and local split screen for four players on your fancy next-gen console. There's just one thing you need to do before you get started: download a "strongly recommended" 16 or 8GB patch.
