Nintendo keeps on giving to  their flagship title Pikmin 3 almost a year after release. A newly implemented control scheme is now available for those wanting to experience the game slightly differently.

Rolling out their next Pikmin 3 DLC, Nintendo recently released the “Battle Enemies!” pack on the Wii U console. Take on enemies of all shapes and sizes to grab a spot on the global leaderboards!

Featured in the latest Nintendo Direct, Pikmin 3 has received both its first title update and DLC pack that expanded on the solid co-op modes and the online leaderboard system.

As a game series that began almost 12 year ago and with a massive fanbase to appease, Pikmin 3 had a lot of expectations to live up to on the Wii U. Marketed to be a cute, yet beautiful title to usher in the new HD visuals of the system, it was understandable that many were looking forward to its release. Being one of Nintendo’s current flagship titles, it’s no wonder that Pikmin 3 is getting the special treatment it deserves, and only a couple of weeks until launch at that! To celebrate its impending arrival, Pikmin 3 will be available to play at Gamestop next week, allowing gamers to get their hands on this Wii U title sooner than expected.

Move over Captain Olimar, there is a new crew in town in the form of Alph, Captain Charlie and Brittany.  Each of them appears in the upcoming Pikmin 3 and believes they can do the best job in herding, collecting food and sending Pikmin to an untimely and gruesome end.  Check out the new trailer to see the threesome in action.

Wii U owners may have been a little disappointed that they’d have to wait for Pikmin 3’s launch later this year, but delaying its release may have been a great choice for Nintendo to make.  As revealed by Satoru Iwata, Pikmin 3 will now have multiple control variations to suit almost everyone’s way to play, among the new features found within the gameplay itself.

Some new footage of Nintendo’s upcoming Wii U Pikmin title, Pikmin 3, has surfaced on the internet, and we’re excited to show off some more of its co-op gameplay. From the looks of things, there will be a crap ton of new, giant monsters to encounter and defeat. Players have got to hand it to Nintendo to make Pikmin games look so natural in both their environments and alien life forms.

Though Nintendo was shooting for Pikmin 3 before the end of 2012, it looks like it will just make the cutoff of the Wii U’s launch window next year.
