Alright! Now this is what I'm talking about!  We finally have more than one retail release coming out this week. There's even some downloadable games joining the mix!  Welcome to 2012, people.  It's time to get your game on.

The Simpsons Arcade Game is out now on Xbox Live Arcade, ahead of the game's launch next week on the PlayStation Network.  It's an odd day to release an arcade game, typically XBLA gets new releases on Wednesdays.  It's good news though if you are fans of the game, as now, you and your friends and family have weekend plans.  Seems like you'll have something to do just in time for your Super Bowl party.

The titles are rolling on yet another episode of The Simpsons, but this time it is not one of the tired antics of the past few years, but a classic from the past; The Simpsons Arcade. Co-Optimus already dropped the news that The Simpsons Arcade was coming to PSN and XBLA, but Sony have thrown in an extra bonus. If you are a member of the Playstation Plus scheme you can download the game for free from the 7th February. As for owners of Microsoft's gaming behemoth - no news yet on a release or pricing.

We first learned that The Simpsons Arcade would be coming home to Xbox Live Arcade back in November, but news has been scarce since then. Just recently, however Xbox360Achievements.org published the game's full Achievement list. That alone is good news because it usually means that the game will come out within the next month or two. A quick glance at the Achievements themselves reveals another interesting fact: both the English (worldwide) and Japanese versions will be included in the port.

When Konami finally brought X-Men Arcade to home consoles last year, thousands of arcade and Marvel Comics fans rejoined. It looks like we’re in for a repeat sometime soon, as an enterprising reader over at XBLA Fans has discovered a rating for Simpsons Arcade from the Australian ratings board. It’s coming to Xbox Live Arcade (and possibly Playstation Network as well).
