Awesomenauts’ recent update, Patch 1.13, has Mojang and Ronimo joining forces! Robotic character, Clunk, has been given a brand new skin and sound effects that creepily familiar.

One of the more pleasant co-op surprises in this past year in gaming was the MOBA-style Awesomenauts that was initially released on PSN and XBLA. Up to three players could team up to to do some good ole fashioned comp stomping against three AI opponents in order to go laning, feed foes, and other terms that I have no idea about. However, others seem to know what's up and must be playing quite a bit. Since its release back in May, the game's seen a PC release, a slew of patches, tweaks, and updates, and even a new character or two or five. For all you fans of MOBA games that are also fervent Mac users, your day has arrived. Awesomenauts is now available on Mac through the Steam client. Finally, PC players and Mac players can team up in wonderful co-op harmony.

Like a modern day Nostradamus, Co-Optimus prides itself on being able to predict the future.  A while back we had a powerful vision that the 3 player co-op game Awesomenauts would make its way onto PC and this has come to pass courtesy of Steam.

Fans of Awesomenauts can sleep peacefully tonight, as Ronimo Games has finally answered the relentless community requests for a PC version, now officially progress (with the Mac soon to follow).

Back in May, we caught wind that console MOBA Awesomenauts would possibly be getting not just one, but two new characters in an upcoming free patch. Looks like the information was good, as we recently got word that patch 1.1 will indeed include Coco Nebulon and Derpl Zork, rounding out the Awesomenauts roster to 8 characters.

Everyone's favorite* MOBA for the consoles, Awesomenauts, is getting an update to help ensure the game is well and truly balanced for all. Tweaks like this are quite common for a game within this genre, or really games as a whole. After all, any game that involves mutliple characters with various skills may not be quite perfect enough at launch as players will always find ways of using (and exploiting) skills and abilities that developers may not have anticipated during development. Awesomenauts is no exception to this as the bulk of changes being made are just these types of tweaks.

We just posted our Awesomenauts review yesterday, giving it a healthy 4 out of 5 in our Co-Op Review. One of our small complaints about the game was that its hero roster was quite small - only 6 heroes currently. It looks like that issue will be addressed soon with at least one new awesomenaut on the horizon.

Many of you are likely aware of the fast-growing and popular PC genre known as MOBAs (Multiplayer Online Battle Arenas). Once only found as mods to RTS games, MOBAs have been taking the world by storm for the past few years, spawning communities numbering in the millions. PlayStation Plus members are once again being treated to a stellar month of perks. Sony's online subscription service is offering up several free games this May. My subscription paid for itself last month, and I'm looking forward to adding to my collection.
