Activision has announced that the demo for Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 has hit the Xbox Live marketplace for Gold members. The demo allows players to check out the Washington D.C. mission in the game and also allows local co-op play.
Also available on both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 is the $10 DLC content pack which contains five new playable characters including Carnage, Cable, Psylocke, Black Panther and unveiled today - Magneto. The DLC also includes four new challenge missions and boss encounters. You may also optionally purchase the previously exclusive pre-order character Juggernaut for $1.99.
The battle is truly on for your fall gaming dollar as Amazon has unleashed a killer deal for gamers. While normally they offer a $5 or $10 credit for preordering titles through their site, this deal trumps them all.
When you spend $80 on qualifying games, they are going to give you $40 in credit towards future game purchases. The list of eligible video games is about 600 titles deep, and titles like Uncharted 2, Borderlands, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, Operation Flashpoint 2, and The Beatles: Rock Band are all on the list.

The Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 character list continues to grow, this time adding Deadpools occasional partner in crime, Cable. Cable will join Carnage in the latest DLC Pack. We're going to call this the "C-pack," and pretend it stands for "Co-op."
The announcement continues to confirm our the DLC leak we reported on a few weeks back.
This week we found out about Carnage as the first downloadable character for Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, and Gamespot's latest video confirms the next character as Psylocke for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. But it's what appears at about 6:40 into the video that really caught our eye when characters Magneto, Cable and Black Panther are clearly visible of those available to place in your team.
From what we can tell this is more or less confirmation that those three characters should also be available as DLC in the near future.

Remember how pissed off you were when you found out you could only get Juggernaut for Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 if you preordered from Gamestop? Remember how you wanted to smash your head through a wall in anger? Please remain calm, we're about to tell you how you can stick it to the man and get Juggernaut for yourself without setting a foot inside Gamestop.
Update: Sorry folks, looks like Gamestop pulled the website.

We've got our first big co-op release of the fall season today with Activision's Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2. The four player co-op brawler/RPG has players choosing from over 25 characters and teaming up to combine powers in a story set in the Civil War story arc.
The game has online and offline co-op for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and local co-op for the rest of the platforms including the Wii, PS2, PSP and DS. There are certain characters that are exclusive to certain versions of the game, and we have the full list laid out for you.

Welcome to Beyond Co-Op, a weekly piece that talks about industry stories that may or may not be related to co-op gaming.
The stories for this week:
- Sonic to Return in 2010...in 2D!
- Zenimax (Bethesda) Buys Prey Rights
- Two Batman: Arkham Asylum DLC Downloads Coming in Next Two Weeks
- Disney Acquires WideLoad/Bungie Co-Founder Put in Charge
- Big Release Week

Every once in a while a video game trailer does it right. The official launch trailer for the four player co-op game, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, does it right.
First and foremost you have plenty of SuperHero action. The entire cast of characters are on display, and the story is laid out in front of you. Of course, you can't give everything away in the trailer, and MUA2's does a good job of teasing you with the unknown. Finally no trailer is complete with some great music, and the song chosen here really fits the mood.
The game comes out next Wednesday on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, PSP, and PS2.

The first Marvel Ultimate Alliance was a comic book lovers dream game. With dozens of characters, four player co-op play, and lots of replayability - it was a sure fire hit. Now with the sequel on the horizon hoping to up the odds, we sat down with Dan Tanguay, Game Director, at Vicarious Visions to get the details of Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2.
Want the co-op goods? Read on.
Ms. Marvel has been unveiled as the next character to add your Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 co-op team. This leaves exactly one character yet to be revealed in the game. My guess is we'll find out this week who it is at the GamesCom in Germany. We have a handful of screenshots of Ms. Marvel in action.
Who are you hoping for, for the final character?
