Double Dragon Gaiden is a big hit, River City Girls 2 is getting Double Dragon DLC soon, and now a 3D entry is coming. Arc System Works recently revealed Double Dragon Revive in a Japanese magazine, showing off some character artwork and screenshots. We don't know a lot about Revive yet, but we fully expect it to support 2-player co-op.

Last year, River City Girls, WayForward's seminal beat 'em up RPG, arrived on mobile through the Crunchyroll Game Vault. That partnership was such a success that WayForward is bringing three more games to Crunchyroll's mobile app: Dawn of the Monsters, RWBY: Arrowfell, and Spidersaurs. This is cool news for mobile co-op fans because two of those three games support local co-op. Dawn of the Monsters is available right now, and the other titles are coming soon.

Holy mackerel, what a month! It felt like every publisher and developer on Earth announced a new co-op title, resulting in 235 new entries to our database. Still, looking back at the last four years since our Database Master joined us, June 2024 was actually on par with previous years. Way back in the innocent time of 2013, MAGES released a beat 'em up called Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds on Xbox 360. A few years later, an enhanced version by the name of Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds Overdrive landed on PlayStation 4, followed by a Switch port. All of those versions were delisted earlier this year, but there is good news! The game will be coming back to life on all modern platforms as Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds Ultimate, courtesy of Rocket Panda, the new IP owner.

The folks at Outright Games are always developing licensed games, mostly based on kids' properties. Well, this time they've grabbed a bunch of kids' properties and rolled them up into a big ball of happiness. The result is Nick Jr. Party Adventure, a puzzle adventure that crosses over Dora the Explorer, Paw Patrol, Blue's Clues, and other franchises in one big platformer. The game will support 2-player local co-op, and it's due on consoles and PC in October.

Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration launched way back in 2022, celebrating the history of Atari with documentary content and a huge collection of retro games. Late last year, the collection received 12 new games in an update. At the time, Atari and Digital Eclipse promised more content would be coming. Last month, a small Australian developer called Timesea Studio announced that it would be making a Secret of Mana-style action RPG called Infinity Knights: Xross. Fundraising via Kickstarter was always the developers' plan, and now the Kickstarter campaign has begun. By donating to the campaign, gamers can preorder a console or PC copy of the game and some cool digital bonuses for cheap.

Starship Troopers: Extermination, the large-scale co-op shooter from Offworld, is due to fully launch on consoles and Steam in October. In the meantime, the Steam Early Access version continues to grew and improve, as evidenced by this week's Version 0.8 update. The new update adds a brand new planet, weak points on enemies, persistent bug bodies, and more.

Super Evil Megacorp's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate is the first roguelike to feature the TMNT. After first appearing on Apple Arcade (yuck!), it's now heading to Switch.
