It's been almost a year since we first got a hands-on with Signal Studios' action RPG Ascend: New Gods. After all those months and the recent opening of closed beta, the team has decided it's time for a name change. Just like Istanbul was once called Constantinople, Ascend: New Gods is now Ascend: Hand of Kul. So if you have a date to play New Gods, she'll be playing in Hand of Kul. When it's actually released, that is.
New details have emerged about Charlie Murder, the upcoming music-themed RPG/beat-em-up from Ska Studios. The game has been in development for quite some time, but new details leak out on a regular basis, so we're still pretty psyched about it. Charlie Murder will rely heavily on gaining levels, boosting stats with ability points, and finding/using various pieces of equipment, which includes things like badass Viking helmets, t-shirts, gloves and relics.
Mario has had some classic levels throughout his games; some of them great fun, but some of them spooky. I always found the underwater levels the most worrisome and in homage to these, the developer behind Rayman Legends has produced their own. In this latest trailer for the 4/5 player co-op, out August 30th, Rayman and two friends go underwater for some fishy slaughter.

News for those of you planning your next big heist in the gaming world. Payday 2, the sequel to Payday: The Heist, will extend beyond a digital release. The team at Overkill Software will be delivering the sequel via physical disc. Right now, the game is planned to release on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. There will be a global release for Payday 2.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows is looking to be totally tubular. The release of their second character trailer has Raphael kicking the shell out of some unlucky Foot Soldiers. The 4 player co-op brawler is resembling more of the TMNT games we were used to back in the 16 bit era, instead of the dark path the franchise has taken in the recent years.
The first DLC expansion for Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion, labelled "Forbidden Worlds" is set to release on June 5. You may have seen some info on the free Soul Sacrifice DLC heading our way later this month. You may have even noticed the poster below in your local Gamestop. It's true: several new bosses have been confirmed as free DLC with eight of them having been identified. I would have mentioned something earlier, but I've been playing the game so much I forgot to write about it. This is easily my pick up and play guilty pleasure of the year (so far). Unveiled back in February, Space Nomads is a co-op first person tower defense game with some light sandbox elements set in a procedurally-generated world. It's being developed by a two man team called Loading Studios, and progress is being made at a steady clip. A new video has recently been released showing off a few of the enemies that will appear in the upcoming alpha release. As you might have guessed with a game that strands you on a desert-like alien world, each of these enemies is furry, cuddly, and eager to give you hugs and kisses!
