Nick's Thoughts on E3 2010

This is my 3rd E3, though it's my first one after missing it last year, and I'm pretty excited.  My first two shows were the smaller events that while more intimate, had some issues.  This year promises to be a return of the old with a mix of the new and I'm really excited to talk to some of the co-op developers out there.  I want to hear what they have to say about the genre of gaming we all love so much.

I expect an interesting dichotomy to occur this year with Microsoft and Sony focusing on the casual with their Natal and Move products and Nintendo focusing a bit more on the hardcore with their 3DS handheld.  I really hope that Microsoft and Sony don't forget their core audience, and I really hope that the 3DS can wow us.

Jason's Thoughts on E3 2010

This being my first E3, I think I'll be doing all I can just not to be overwhelmed by it all.  I'm excited to be able to check out the biggest gaming event of the year and hope to bring you all some of those impressions and thoughts through my Twitter account and posts made here.  Like Nick, I'm looking forward to talking with many of the developers about the games they're developing, what inspired them to develop co-op games, and what they feel defines a a quality co-op experience.  I also can't wait to get my hands on some of the great co-op gamings that are scheduled to be released later this year or early the next.

As someone who is not really sold on either the Natal or Move products when it comes to the XBox 360 and Playstation 3 consoles, I am curious to see what Microsoft and Sony may have in-store for E3 that we haven't heard about before.  Hopefully some quality co-op applications.  As far as Nintendo's press conference, I echo Nick's sentiments that the Nintendo 3DS is what I have the most interest in and hope to be able to see exactly how this technology works.
