Fable 3 is currently free for Xbox Live Gold subscribers! Microsoft flipped the switch earlier today with no official word on how long the giveaway will last, so get to grabbin' while the grabbin's good. To download, fire up your console and head to the On Demand section of the marketplace. There you'll see Fable 3 glistening like a bit of treasure on the ground.
Reasons behind the big freebie are mysterious, but the last time something like this happened, Fable 2 went free and Fable 3 was announced. So, new Xbox console, E3, three years since a new Fable game... You do the math. We did, but the answer came out "carpet" because we're bad at math. An HD remake of the original Fable was also announced recently, so if Fable 4 doesn't materialize soon, we have a back-up reason so we can pretend we weren't wrong.
Co-op in Fable 3 supports two players locally or online.
