Lionhead’s fantasy role-playing game, Fable II, pulled a Houdini and completely vanished from the Xbox Live Marketplace earlier yesterday. For a short time, no one could view the title through either the “Games on Demand” tab or Fable II episodes on both Live and Xbox.com. Luckily, things are back to normal.
We love when the Xbox Live Marketplace has weekly deals on co-op games because hey - who doesn't love saving a buck or four on additional content for your favorite co-op games? This week (from now until Feb. 27th), Xbox 360 owners can snag some Fable 3 DLC from 33%-45% off. This includes quest packs like Traitor's Keep (which we did an impressions piece on) and Understone. And if you've been on the fence about that dog breed DLC.... well, that's on sale, too.
Today is the final day for Steam's Summer Sales - and it appears as though it's the highlights from all the sales over the past 10 days. What does that mean? It means plenty of co-op games, that's what.
The next 24 hours of Steam's Summer sale is upon us - and there's a lot of good co-op games available for a little price. Here's what's on the menu.
We've updated our Fable 3 review to include impressions and details about the recently released PC version of the game. Ready to head back into Albion? Read on!
This week we have a late arrival for the PC and maybe, if we're lucky, we'll get some PSN love. Better late than never, I always say. Not a huge co-op week, but "Grand Theft Auto 1947" is coming out, or as I like to call it, "Red Dead Redemption: The Future is Cra-a-zy".
Everyone knows that game show Let's Make a Deal, right? Remember how there are three doors for contestants to choose from, with prizes that range from a new car to a wheelbarrow full of dirt? Well, the PC release of Fable III is going to be like that in a way. But no matter which door you choose, the same Fable III goodness is your prize.
You may have heard that Fable 3 is finally coming to PC on May 17th. You may have also heard that the game will have a hardcore mode, along with local and online co-op. In a recent interview with CVG.com Lionhead Studios Josh Atkins said that some of the exclusive PC content of Fable 3 may make their way to the Xbox 360 version. When asked if features like the hardcore difficulty level and the first person perspective could come to the 360, Atkins said;
This year's PAX East 2011 show floor was jam packed full of gamers and gaming goodness. The show saw a record breaking 69,500 atendees - the biggest PAX convention on any coast to date. Despite that many people the new convention center was wide open with plenty of space. With that many people and that many things to see we don't always get a lot of in depth time with soemthing. Still, there were plenty of things we saw that we want to share with you.
The latest thing to come about for the co-op-eriffic Fable 3 is a handful of DLC. We've seen dog skins, weapon packs, new locations, and a bit more storyline to supplement the royal storyline for Fable 3. Traitor's Keep is one of those storyline packs that gives you a taste of life beyond the mainland. Life in a giant island prison facility called Ravenscar Keep, and boy is it the very definition of "Oops."
Have you been waiting for the price to drop on a ticket to Albion? Were you waiting for Fable 4 to come out, just so Fable 3 would become more affordable? Amazon has a more timely solution for you. Today and today only Fable 3 is 53% off. You can pick it up for a pittance of $28.06. To sweeten the deal you can pick yourself up an Xbox LIVE 12 Month Gold membership for $39.99. That's 33% off the price a regular Joe would pay. You're not a regular Joe, are you? Heck no! You're a beautiful individual snowflake, and you deserve to be treated that way! You work hard for the money, and we want to treat you right.
During a recent press conference, a boatload of stuff was announced for Xbox 360 - a lot of it pertaining to upcoming co-op releases. Major Nelson was kind enough to compile all of the news announcements on his blog for us. We're especially excited to see the Beta event for Gears of War 3 is public starting mid-April, but there are others to look at as well.
We've got a few tidbits of Fable 3 info today - both items I'm pretty shocked we haven't seen sooner.
As gamers we sure seem to know what we want after a game has been chewed and digested in our game systems, don’t we? It doesn’t happen often, but in the case of the upcoming fantasy sequel Fable 4 we get to drop our opinionated two cents in ahead of time, by rating the series it belongs to. In the hopes of having the best possible community pleasing game, Lionhead Studios has released a brief survey that wants to know what they did right for Fable 3 - including the use of co-op, to possibly carry on to a sequel.
Did someone cast a darkness spell on the release date for the PC version of Fable 3? We’ve seen, beaten, and are just waiting for some DLC on the console Xbox 360 version, but still no word for PC gamers. CES did offer us a bit of light on the game, as it was available for previewing at the Microsoft booth just last week. Hopefully that means they’re just about ready to give up the goods and release for PC already.
