WHO PUSHED THE BUTTON?!

Deep Rock Galactic Stream Recap

Ghost Ship Games' Deep Rock Galactic has officially made it into Early Access (or Game Preview if you're Microsoft) and we figured we should hop back into it to see how things have progressed since its Alpha. Things are definitely harder and the progression has been flushed out, but for those thinking is just another "Left 4 Dead style FPS" game... I think there's more to it than what's on the surface.

Our Weekend In Gaming: Smorgasbord

For what feels like the first time this year, the Co-Opticrew's weekend plans aren't necessarily dominated by one or two games in particular.  Instead, we've got quite the assortment of titles to choose from.  I'll be savoring this moment, as Far Cry 5 is right around the corner, so I imagine it'll be quite some time before I get this sort of variety again.

Cloak & Dagger DLC Out For LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2

You know, I'm really starting to like reporting on news for LEGO games.  The stories are never life-changing, per se, but there's something comforting in the knowledge that, no matter what's going on in the world, Traveller's Tales is somewhere out there figuring out a way to condense a beloved (or relatively unknown) character into a virtual minifigure.

Three co-op titles headed to the Switch this Spring/Summer

Nindies Showcase Recap

Yesterday, Nintendo held one of their "Nindies Showcases" to highlight some of the titles that will be headed to the Switch over the next few months. There are a few stand-out single-player games (like Mark of the Ninja Remastered, The Messenger, and Banner Saga 3), but, of course, we were more focused on the co-op games. Help guide a fallen star home in Pode, dodge shapes to the rhythm of phat beats in Just Shapes and Beats, or decide the fate of your kingdom in Reigns: Kings and Queens.

30 Minutes of A Way Out Gameplay with Director

We're just a few days away from the release of Hazelight's entirely co-op action/adventure title, A Way Out. Josef Fares, the game's director, has been making the press rounds in anticipation of its imminent arrival and last week at GameSpot, he played through a portion of the title to show off that co-op in action while also discussing things like the game's length, working with EA to make the game, and more.

There are some genuinely good changes here, too bad they don't apply to Arcade

New Progression Model Coming for Star Wars Battlefront II's Multiplayer

Months after its release and the whole loot crate fiasco, EA has announced their plans for revising the progression and loot system for Star Wars: Battlefront II. The good news is that they're removing any kind of gameplay affecting items (such as the Star Cards that impact your class abilities and gear) from the loot crates and making them cosmetic items only. The bad news? None of these changes apply to the co-op Arcade mode.
