A launch, a cancellation announcement, and a designer departure

MMO Co-Opportunities Volume LXIV: Beginnings and Endings

This month, all our stories for MMO Co-Opportunities happen to focus on beginnings and endings. It seems rather fitting, since we’re starting Spring of a new year. We look at a somewhat rocky launch for Black Desert Online, the announcement of the cancellation of EverQuest Next, and a long-time ArenaNet game designer leaving the studio. ...

Chariot Is Speeding Wildly Onto Apple TV Today

Working together is obviously important in its own right, but it becomes extra crucial when your task centers around something delicate, like an egg in a spoon, or a souffle, or the corpse of your dead father.  Chariot, the much-lauded game from Frima Originals, centers around just such a situation (the one with paternal demise, specifically) and, as of March 10th, will be available for friends, couples, and possibly strangers who happen to own an Apple TV.

Dying Light's Console Versions Have Added Four New Community Maps

The Internet, as we have come to find out, is simultaneously a factory for both unending woe and astonishing joy, i.e. scrolling past your uncle's paragraphs-long Trump manifesto and then clicking on a video about children in Somalia getting to play with an actual soccer ball for the first time.  Curiously, the latest community map pack for Dying Light contains both facets of what the World Wide Web has to offer, but it's not quite in the way you'd expect.

Assault Android Cactus Blasts Onto PS4

With Assault Android Cactus finally landing onto the PlayStation 4, I need some help. Can someone explain to me the frequency of combat droids resembling adorable little girls? Sure, you don't want your nefarious army composed entirely of hulking DeathBots like all the other mad scientists. But out of all the robot designs out there, why do we have to throw the cutesy ones into battle? With Assault Android Cactus, you can even launch four at a time into robotic bullet hell.

Meet The C-Team: Tom Clancy's The Division Co-Op Stream

Last night the Co-Opticrew dove into the newly release shooter, The Division. To be called a shooter though isn't quite an accurate description of all the game entails. The game is a careful blend of other titles with a mission and world system similar to Destiny, a loot system that borrows from Action/RPGs, and a crafting system that's part MMO and part Army of Two's gun customization. Needless to say we barely feel like we scratched the surface here.
