Wizard of Wor's take on teamwork is not quite as robust as we'd like, but it was certainly a step in the right direction. The concept of teaming up with a friend, back to back, covering for each other, as wave after wave of enemies approach is certainly one that has held up through the decades.
Three months after being re-released on the Xbox Live Arcade, Alien Breed 2: Assault is being re-re-released on the PlayStation Network. This Tuesday - December 07th - the game will be available for two player local and online co-op.
We've given a fair amount of coverage to the online first-person shooter Combat Arms, and for good reason: not only is the game completely free to play, but the scope of the game itself is pretty huge. Players are constantly treated to new maps and modes and there are literally hundreds of guns to choose from.
When Ghostbusters came out a year and a half ago it had a few disappointing flaws. First, it had no co-op campaign (which can't really be changed now), but it also had broken achievements in the multiplayer mode. Four of the achievements in the co-op "horde" mode would not unlock. Epic front man Cliff Bleszinski is hyping the upcoming Gears of War 3 announcement. The big reveal will be at the Spike Video Game Awards, taking place on December 11th. It's surprising to see so many of the staff still playing Red Dead Redemption, but that seems to be a popular game these days despite coming out 9 months ago. There's plenty of variety though with a few new releases on everyones radar including Dead Nation, Spelunker HD and even some Assassin's Creed. As the temperatures drop for the Winter here in the US, and the game releases freeze, it's the perfect time to catch up on that backlog.
The more I see of Darkspore, the more my PC yearns to be used as a gaming device. Clicking on enemies doesn't normally sound appealing to me, but the way Darkspore does it with such detail and beauty really changes my stance on Diablo-esque PC titles.
You know what tends to be fairly difficult? Playing co-op online without voice chat capabilities. Without a general Playstation chat capability, Dead Nation is having that very issue - for now. It sounds like the developer was having a bit of trouble getting things perfect for launch, so a sacrifice was made in order to deliver the amazing experience that we've found in Dead Nation.
Most gift guides are full of holiday cheer and all that crap - screw that - instead of giving you a guide on what to buy your friends and relatives for the holidays - I'm going to tell you how to blow a ton of cashola on yourself with plenty of goodies for your PC Gaming experience.
Microsoft's Winter 2010 promo for Xbox Live features three games all cooperating together in unique ways, two of the games, feature co-op themselves.
