That latest DLC pack for PAYDAY 2 arrives bearing goats. A community view of the events of the past several months

The Story of PAYDAY 2 and Microtransactions - Part 2

Last time we looked at some of the moments over the past two years with PAYDAY 2 that lead its developer, Overkill, to decide on implementing microtransactions, from their own point of view. This time, we turn a bit more to the community perspective and dive a little deeper into those same events, starting with where we left off: the Hype Train eve...

A look at the past year and the events that lead to now

The Story of PAYDAY 2 and Microtransactions - Part 1

Overkill Offers Apology to its Community

As they will be in most games

PAYDAY 2 Microtransactions are Here to Stay

The news first came last week when developer Overkill announced that microtransactions would be added to PAYDAY 2. These were included as part of the "Black Market" update and allow players to purchase a special drill that can open special loot safes at the end of a mission. These safes will contain weapon skins that vary in degree of rarity, but can give stat boosts to your gun in addition to a new look. Despite the public backlash to it, these transactions will not be removed.

It's not always your teammates causing problems

Fixes to Xbox One Version of Payday 2 Coming this Year

While the PC version of Overkill's popular crime simulator, Payday 2, has been enjoying a consistent stream of updates and fixes, not all is well with the Xbox One or PlayStation 4 versions. On the Xbox, matchmaking issues, disconnects, and other problems have plagued the game since its release last June, and both systems are behind as far as new content and updates. Hope is on the way but it may not be soon.
