Hot off a solid showing at PAX 2009, previews here and here, Bethesda and Splash Damage have released four new screenshots of their eight player co-op title Brink.

 A lot of people have classified this in the post apocalyptic category, but I think the setting more closely resembles Crackdown meets The Club.  What do you think?

Our friends over at Colony of Gamers managed to steal Brink's Lead Designer, Richard Ham, for some candid questions about the upcoming 8 player co-op title.  Richard was deeply involved with Fable 2 while at Lionhead, which are always responsible for a deep gameplay experience.  

They CoG Boys chat about the lack of female characters, working with a smaller studio and the type of gameplay experience you can expect from Brink.  With this and Borderlands there are some really solid Action/RPG Co-Op games coming soon.

Release Date: Q2 2010

Splash Damage was demonstrating their upcoming action game for the 360, PS3 and PC called Brink in the Bethesda booth at this weekend's Penny Arcade Expo.  Brink is a stylized action title set in the near future in which players assume the role of one of two sides of an ongoing battle.  Choosing between the Resistance or the Security, players are given dynamic missions, complete character customization, and best of all 8 player co-op as they progress through the story.

Splash Damage has unleashed a handful of screens for their upcoming four player co-op game, Brink.  The game promises seamless drop-in and drop-out play for up to four player throughout the entire game.  There's also dynamic missions and goals generated based on player class and skill.  Sounds interesting, looks pretty, and we want it now.

Too bad we'll be waiting till next year when it releases on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.

To co-op, or not to co-op: that is the question. Developers have recently acknowledged that gamers actually like to play together, but often miss a valuable point. Many co-op modes are simply that: modes within an otherwise single-player game. Brink, one of the few pleasant surprises at E3 this year. One that has a handful of great features, including Co-op, beautifully stylized visuals, a terrain defeating "SMART" system, and loads of others. With it's presentation, Lead Producer Paul Wedgewood gave a nice tour of The Arc.

There's only been a handful of co-op  game announcements to come out of E3 this year, but one that seems to be surprising everyone is a game called Brink, developed by Splash Damage and published by Bethesda.  

Brink is a first person shooter with a strong emphasis on character development.  Your character is one you bring with you not only in single player, but into co-op and competitive multiplayer modes.  In all modes you'll earn experience that allows customization options and upgrades.
