You play with fire, you get burned. The new flamethrower is fun but inefficient.
Army of Two: The 40th Day originally contained seven meaty chapters, which we enjoyed playing through. For $9.99 on the PlayStation Network or
800 on Xbox Live you can now add the Chapters of Deceit downloadable content - two more sections of the campaign that give you an alternate story arc and plenty more bad guys to kill.
The first mission of the DLC separates Rios and Salem and strips Salem of his weapons. Using melee combat and communication, you are charged with reuniting the duo. The sequence is entertaining and challenging, but mercifully short. Once together, be prepared to experience heightened difficulty - the rest of the Deceit campaign content makes the first seven chapters look like child's play.

We recently told you about the Chapter of Deceit DLC pack for Army of Two: The 40th Day. This first piece of premium content for the two player co-op titles adds new campaign missions that take place during the main storyline.
The latest developer diary gives us a hint as to what to expect - bigger and badder heavies, unarmed situations, and more await as we're told "Co-Op tactics are necessary to survive." Chapters of Deceit launches April 1st, no price was given yet.

Less 'service with a smile' and more 'servers with a frown', as the news breaks that EA are to close down more online servers on March 16th. This is bad news for co-op fans looking to complete Lord of the Rings: Conquest, as this is the highest profile co-op game on the list. For those in Asia, the closing down of the Army of Two online servers on April 15th will be a double blow - no more fist bumping for you. Finally, Mercenaries 2: World in Flames on the PC will be given its burns notice.

If you've missed out on some of the great co-op titles of this generation on the Xbox 360, now's your chance to pick a trio up for around $40. Amazon is running a promotion that includes 36 titles, 9 of which are co-op games, at a buy 2 get 1 free price. Most titles are $20 a piece.
It might be a good time to snag Resident Evil 5 with the upcoming DLC coming out, you'd be able to own the Gold Edition for a fraction of the cost.

The original Army of Two was marketed to the fans of buddy co-op. In 2009 EA Vancouver promised to vastly improve on the original with Army of Two: The 40th Day. We were impressed with our PAX hands-on and community day visit - did the final game hold up?

If you purchase a copy of Army of Two: The 40th Day - which ships to retailers and some customers today - you'll probably get a couple of EA-sponsored fliers in the game packaging. One is an advertisement for upcoming EA games...the other is for an upcoming Army of Two comic book under the new brand EA Comics.
Promising only that the comic will be "coming soon" and is "intended for mature readers", the above teaser image adorns the in-package flier and serves as a splash page for the website. For now, you can sign up for email updates while you hungrily await more details on the co-op duo's new adventure.

Tomorrow is the day. Grab a friend and get ready to fist bump your way into a destruction filled Shanghai in Army of Two: The 40th Day. We've been covering the game in depth since last April, when we got an exclusive first look at the game. Next we saw the game at PAX, where our own Jim and Jason joined Rios and Salem, getting the scoop on weapon customization and more. And just when you thought we couldn't bring you any more coverage, we went hands on with Extraction, and talked to the game's lead multiplayer designer.
2 Player co-op campaign, 4 player co-op extraction, and plenty of fist bumps. Don't forget to wear your custom Co-Optimus armor and bring your Rios and Salem action figures. So sit back, relax, and watch this launch trailer - we'll see you online soon.
