Easter has come early this year, you can tell by the fact that it is still snowing outside and I haven't got around to buying any eggs. Best then that I avoid my family and stay indoors playing games on my 360. The Spring Sale starts today and lasts until April 1st. It is not co-op heavy, but Dead Rising 2 and its DLC is all reduced. Max Payne 3 has finally gotten its long awaited co-op mode, almost nine months after release. Called Dead Men Walking, it's an online co-op mode for two players, with one player in control of Max while the other jumps into the boots of his pal, Passos. If you're curious about the single player, you can check out our review here, otherwise read on for co-op impressions.
Co-op is finally coming to Max Payne 3. I know, I know, you've heard it all before. The DLC add-on, which will introduce co-op to the franchise, has been delayed over and over again since last summer. I know some of the new game smell of Max Payne 3 may have worn off, especially since it's been out since last May. I played through the campaign and thought it was pretty boss. The final act is particularly awesome. Co-op couldn't hurt.
Remember that promised co-op mode for Max Payne 3? Heck, we almost forgot about it too. Well get ready folks, because we finally have the official release date and it’s much closer than expected.
Max Payne 3's upcoming downloadable content has been reduced from five packs to three. That's not to say there's now less content, but each pack has been combined with others to contain more value for the $10 price tag. We've been waiting with bated breath for the announced co-op DLC since the game was released back in May, but so far, it's alluded us. Now it seems we finally have a date. The co-op pack will be released as part of the Deathmatch Made in Heaven pack, which releases this October.
Wow. It's been three months since we've done a round-up of our Beyond Co-Op Reviews. For that, we apologize. It was a pretty busy time up until a few weeks ago, but now we're back with a huge batch of reviews of the latest games that don't necessarily feature co-op play. Without further ado, here are 8 game reviews for your reading pleasure from our staff.
Nine years after Max Payne 2, the iconic character is coming back sans the scowl. Rockstar Games is releasing Max Payne 3 next week on the 360, PS3 and PC and with it comes the first time the series features multiplayer. Like the last big Rockstar game, Red Dead Redemption, it appears Max Payne 3 will be adding a co-op mode via DLC shortly after release.
