Bayonetta 2 is slated for release next Friday, October 24, but if you're looking for some combo-riffic action in heels now, you can check out the demo on the Nintendo eShop. If that sounds like too much effort, then there's always a flashy new trailer to tide you over.
The demo allows players to play through a couple of levels, but not the game's new "Tag Climax" co-op mode. That co-op mode is, by all accounts, more on the co-opetition side of things rather than straight up co-op. Players will be working together to take down enemies in a timed level, but the player who doles out the most damage will be earning the rewards.
The announcement of a Bayonetta sequel on the Wii U was... interesting. Given Nintendo's general family-friendly atmosphere for their games, a title featuring a protagonist that loses clothing the more she pulls of stylish combos was not the most obvious pairing. However, the Wii U's performance in the sales department thus far likely is a contributing factor and there are no doubt some hopes that a more mature game like this will bring some players over to the console.
