Asterix the Gaul is a long-running French comic series that has been translated into English and numerous languages. French publisher Microids has released numerous video game adaptations, the most recent of which is the 4-player action game, Asterix & Obelix XXXL: The Ram From Hibernia. Microids also published a beat 'em up game called Asterix & Obelix: Slap Them All! a few years back, and now it's getting a sequel. Asterix & Obelix: Slap Them All! 2 will arrive on consoles and PC in November, complete with 2-player local co-op.
In Asterix & Obelix: Slap Them All! 2, a foreign visitor once again arrives at the village of the Gauls to ask for help. The visitor, Justforkix, explains that his father Doublehelix has been falsely imprisoned by the Romans for stealing a treasure called the Lutetia Eagle. Asterix and his oversized pal, Obelix, must travel to Lutèce to locate the missing treasure and save the innocent man! Along the way, our heroes will surely bust plenty of Roman heads.
As with the original, Slap Them All! 2 comes from Mr Nutz Studio, the same developer behind New Joe & Mac: Caveman Ninja. While that game stumbled a bit out of the gate (but was later updated), the original Slap Them All! is a very pretty beat 'em up that plays fairly well to boot. As explained in our co-op review, our only issues with it were the lack of enemy variety (which might still be a problem in the sequel) and occasional difficulty spikes. We know for sure that the new game will once again feature gorgeous hand-drawn art, and that's always worthy of anticipation.
Asterix & Obelix: Slap Them All! 2 features:

Asterix & Obelix: Slap Them All! 2 is scheduled to arrive on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, and Steam sometime in November. Microids will also be releasing The Smurfs 2: The Prisoner of the Green Stone, a 3D platformer, in the same month.
