"Sacred 2" Console Version Preview and Screens

IGN has a hands on preview of Ascaron's console version of Sacred 2, a game we reviewed on the PC last year.  Set to be released on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in March of this year, the game seems to be nearly identical to its PC version in terms of content.  Playability-wise the transition to the controller is surprisingly smooth, with extensive use of radial menus and hot keys.

Aliens Colonial Marines Q1 2009, Previews Prove It

Co-Optimus reader rafoca comes through again with a great find of this Aliens: Colonial Marines preview from GamesRadar.  The new Aliens game from Gearbox is penned by some veteran writers of film and TV, with credits like Battlestar Galactica under their belt, so you know there's an excellent story here.  In fact, throughout the single player campaign the player will take the role of one of six space marines and their perspective on the post Alien 3 events.

Co-Op Release Alert: Planet Pachinko (WiiWare)

This release just about slipped past us, but better late than never.  We have another entry into the shooter/platformer/pachinko/co-op genre.  Actually, I'm pretty sure it's the only game in that genre. Planet Pachinko was released to Nintendo's WiiWare service earlier this week.  Two players control a family of robots, exploring the inside of a gigantic temple dedicated to Pachinko.  Of course, there are pirates looking to loot the treasures, too, so it's a good thing you have an array of weapons including rockets and slime launchers.  Planet Pachinko is priced at 500 Wii points (pennies).  At that price, it might be worth checking out for the novelty factor alone.  More screenshots and information are available at the link below.
