Upcoming military RTS, Act of Aggression, is all about the firepower. As such, it is only fitting that the game's latest trailer focuses on the unique tactical super-weapons of each of the game's three factions.
Well, Atlas, you have successfully joined the elite circle of villainous organizations who have nonsensically unleashed a zombie outbreak for totally convoluted reasons. You can now stand proudly beside such highly esteemed groups as the Umbrella Corporation, and, oh yeah, the Nazis. Initially released via web browser, the tactical RPG Immortal Empire will soon be coming to Steam. The main action of the game uses an X-Com like system to dictate how many actions you - and your foes - can take in one turn. Once you stand triumphant, you earn XP to use to level up your party and gather loot to make you stronger.

These days, "classic" real time strategy games are few and far between. Many of the genre's latest entries offer some sort of subversion on the typical tropes, which is more than welcome, but makes me long for the days of massive troop formations and invincible laser convertibles. I suppose you could make the argument that Act of Aggression is subverting recent subversions to recreate those definitive RTS mechanics, but then you'd be distracting from the game's sick laser tanks.

Last night we checked out a mod for Quake 2. Yes, that Quake 2. Called Co-Op Or Die the mod allows co-op play on a persistent world server for up to four players per instance. Along with the entire Quake 2 campaign, players can play various challenge maps created by the community. The whole thing is tied into the official Co-Op or Die website which allows chat, stats, and other info all integrated right in.
