Four player fusion

Fuse Co-Op Review

In a time of dying consoles, misguided reveals, and lowered expectations, Insomniac Games and Electronic Arts have decided to drop a brand new IP on a grumbling gaming public two weeks before E3. To make matters worse, this particular game has been re-branded and re-imaged after a much lauded E3 reveal dating back to 2011. Is Fuse worthy of your precious leisure time and hard-earned money? Find out in our Co-Op Review.

Co-Op Release Alert for the Week of 5.27.2013

Yawn. It's Monday morning. It's also the beginning of the end of a super great long weekend in the States. Many of you probably won't read this until tomorrow. That's okay. I ain't mad. This week we have only a handful of co-op releases. I can speak from experience; one of them is pretty damn good. I haven't played the other. It may be good, too. Anyway, enjoy your day off. For the rest of you, I don't know. Happy Monday, I guess. Have fun at work. I'm going back to bed.

Sanctum 2 Gets Another Huge Update

Well wouldn't you know it, Sanctum 2 just keeps getting better and better. A brand new patch was recently released for the tower defense/first person shooter hybrid, making a few significant changes to how resources are handled along with a handful of minor tweaks. Tower upgrades were also fiddled with, and swarm enemies have been made even swarmier. Should be a blast!

New Details, Artwork and Videos from Dragon's Crown

Vanillaware's Dragon's Crown is still a few months away from release, but the team isn't shy about releasing artwork and bits of information about the upcoming action/RPG brawler. A big handful of character portraits, wallpapers and tarot cards have been unleashed, showing some of the game's main characters standing around ready to bash some skulls in. Mostly.

Crazy Tough Platformer N Updates, Gets Co-Op Play

It's been several years since we've seen anything major happen in the N universe. The minimalist take on the classic arcade platformer by Metanet Software started as a PC downloadable game then spawned a copy of itself called N+  for XBLA, PSP and Nintendo DS. Now the studio is working on a proper sequel, N++, but has released a nice little update for N to keep us screaming in frustration. Ladies and gentlemen, N v2.0 has arrived. And it has co-op!

A new project

Scourge: Outbreak Coming to XBLA in July

This summer the Xbox LIVE Arcade will be getting another four player third-person shooter called Scourge: Outbreak. Stop me if you've heard this one before: Set in the near future, and small team of specialized mercenaries must take on a secret organization whose mysterious fuel source, "Ambrosia," is threatening the safety of the world. Players will be able to level up their characters and use special perks and abilities. Really? I know several titles have similar story lines, but I finished another upcoming squad-based third-person shooter less than 24 hours ago and this premise seems very familiar.

Rewind weekend

Defiance is Free on Steam This Weekend, Upcoming DLC Details

Defiance is free to play on Steam this weekend. Trion Worlds' massively multiplayer third person shooter is still plugging along. The game has received numerous patches since launch, so if you haven't played it since the free beta back in March you might want to check it out. The free trial will last until 1PM PDT Sunday, May 26th. That's more than enough time to shoot some aliens and earn some decent scrip.

Tactical Survival Game The Red Solstice Enters Alpha

Mars. That red planet that floats around with stone faces in the sand, secret alien cities beneath the surface, and a curious little rover scooping up bits of soil. Also, Ironward Game's upcoming tactical survival game takes place there! The studio is currently hard at work on The Red Solstice, a co-op game that supports up to eight players who must work together in order to survive the harsh Martian climate.
