Form a party of 3 and deal with supernatural threats and slow gameplay.

Holy Purge is a Very Indie Cooperative Horror Game

We like to support indie games around here. There are different levels of "indie," of course. Some games are more indie than others. Holy Purge, a co-op horror game for Steam from Celeritas Games, is as indie as it gets. Three online or LAN players can team up to exorcise demons or something in two different maps. Holy Purge is super janky, but also kind of spooky. Gamers of the right temperament might have a creepy good time purgin' with friends.

Prepare for co-op dungeon crawling in a dark and beautiful world.

Epic Action RPG 'Blightbound' Leaving Early Access, Coming to Consoles in July

Blightbound is a robust and stylish action RPG from Ronimo Games (makers of Awesomenauts) and Devolver Digital that launched on Steam Early Access one year ago. Think of it as a mix between Castle Crashers and Diablo. After numerous updates, the 3-player co-op adventure is finally gearing up for full release at the end of July. Even better, it will launch on not just PC, but Xbox and PlayStation 4 as well.

Dawn Of War II: Retribution Just Got Bloodier Thanks To A Surprise DLC Pack

Halloween may be over, but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy watching Space Marines get drenched in blood as though they're heavily armored versions of Carrie White.  Thanks to the new "Ridiculously Bloody Blood Pack", Dawn of War II: Retribution will make every shotgun blast, every Tyranid bite, and every psyker strike that much gorier, and all for the low, low price of $1.99.  Just think, for the price of a cup of coffee, you could watch your digital warriors cover themselves in the inner workings of their friends and comrades.  Touching.

Two stream recaps should get you familiar with this often overlooked mode.

Join Us for Some Dawn of War 2: Retribution - Last Stand Co-Op

Two weeks in a row the crew decided to stream some Dawn of War 2: Retribution, specifically the game's co-op mode call The Last Stand. In the three player co-op mode, each player chooses a hero character and then takes on waves of enemies trying to earn points. Working together and doing well increases a multiplier earning points faster. Once the match ends, you'll earn XP based on performance and unlock items and abilities for that hero.

Heavily inspired.

Dungeons: The Eye of Draconus Impressions and Stream Recap

Golden Axe. It's a classic beat'em up and one of my favorite games of all time. We might not see many games in that style anymore, but there's a few indie titles trying to revive a genre least seen. Dungeons: The Eye of Draconus is a modern day beat'em up with a throwback feel to games like Golden Axe. In fact, I'd say the game is so directly inspired by the series that it's almost satire on the game and genre.

Co-Op Brawler, Dungeons: The Eye of Draconus Out Today on Steam

Slap in your Hall & Oates mix tape and grab a can of Jolt Cola; we're going back in time. Let's warp back to the 1980's, where the high fantasy beat-em-up was King, and you couldn't play a single game without running into loinclothed barbarians. Guiding us in our time traveling ventures is the three-player co-op brawler of yesteryear, Dungeons: The Eye of Draconus, out today on Steam.

DungeonLand Gets Free to Play Version

DungeonLand was a nifty little action game that came out on PC earlier this year. Featuring three player co-op with players jumping into the shoes of different characters, you'd fight through twisted amusement parks in a hilariously gory style of game that resembled the classic Gauntlet series. Our biggest gripe with the game was the often punishing difficulty combined with some networking issues which have since been fixed.
