Back in 2011 we saw the release of the first Dead Island and a sequel was stated to be in development soon after. While Dead Island Riptide did follow with a 2013 release, a proper sequel, Dead Island 2, was also revealed to be coming through a very memorable announcement trailer that came out in 2014. Since then there has been periodic news that made it seem like the game would never see the light of day, but as of this writing, Dead Island 2 now appears on the Xbox Marketplace as an item available for pre-order with a slated December 2019 release date.

There are plenty of times where network stability is crucial, but none moreso than when a dozen zombies are bearing down on you, and your online ally is the only thing standing between them and your soft, succulent brain matter.  Unfortunately, Dead Island Definitive Edition hasn't been up to snuff in the network stability department since it launched earlier this year.

Deep Silver revives their initial foray into the world of the undead with Dead Island: Definitive Collection. Dead Island and Dead Island: Riptide will be  together in a nice little polished  package with all of the DLC included. In addition to the perks of being able to play these games on next gen systems, there will be improvements to textures, lighting, and shading. Anti-aliasing will also help the game run smoothly. 

Last summer Deep Silver announced that Yager, the German developer best known for Spec Ops: The Line, was being dropped from the next title in the Dead Island franchise, Dead Island 2. Since that time there's been very little news about the project. It appears a new developer has now been found.

Hopefully in anticipation of some big news regarding Dead Island 2, publisher Deep Silver has announced that it's bringing the original, Dead Island, its sequel, Dead Island: Riptide, and all of the DLC that was released for both of those titles onto the current generation of consoles in Dead Island Definitive Collection.

Bundle Stars has kicked off it's Bundle Fest 4. Included are some fun co-op titles, complete with party packages and complete editions. Co-op games include Gauntlet, Never Alone, Dead Island, and Dead Island: Riptide.

Many people seem to think that zombies are over-used in games these days, that somehow there are too many zombie games. Nonsense, I say! There are few things more satisfying than slicing off zombie limbs, kicking them to the ground, and smashing their skulls in with my hooker boots. What? A girl's gotta look hot while killing zombies. You got a problem with that?

Dead Island is one of those franchises that seemed to come out of nowhere and became instantly popular.  The first came was excellent, but did you ever play the 4 player co-op MOBA, Dead Island: Epidemic?  If not, you have until October 15th to give the game a go.  If you did, get on there and spend up your in game currency!
